Fans knew that Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi were going to have an epic lightsaber fight at some point during the prequel trilogy, but few could have guessed what ultimately transpired. Not only did Kenobi battle Skywalker in one of the most epic lightsaber fights, nay, sword fights, in all of cinema, but they also did it on a literal hellscape known to the galaxy as the planet Mustafar.
Looking back, it's the best setting that could have been chosen for their fight, as it was the very embodiment of chaos. Lava was flowing all around them as the very structures they fought on crumbled and burned. Mustafar played a significant role in the final act of Revenge of the Sith, and since that movie's release, it has been the setting of numerous events in Star Wars canon.
This list takes a look at some of the more interesting things you probably didn't know about Mustafar. The reasons why Mustafar is so important, why Darth Vader's castle (AKA Fortress Vader) was built on the planet, and why it's been called the place where "Jedi go to die" are just some of the more fascinating tidbits of information about this incredible planet.
