The best "National Anthem" fails happen when the person singing it is under a lot of pressure. Like, A LOT of pressure. The worst feeling imaginable is singing the "National Anthem" at an important event like the Super Bowl, the World Series, or anything with a large audience, then hearing the crowd slowly start to mumble and realize that you don't know the words, or are singing the wrong words to "The Star Spangled Banner."
Performing a botched "National Anthem" is many peoples' worst nightmare, whether they're a singer or not. Even the person singing the worst "National Anthem" rendition you've ever heard gets the lyrics right, so when you hear one that's a complete train wreck for all the wrong reasons, you really cringe and feel for that person. Either that, or you're like the entire Internet and enjoy the hell out of "National Anthem" fails. From the best "Star Spangled Banner" fails, like R Kelly's "National Anthem" performance, to the worst, like The Fray's, or that one police officer, these are all the most notable "National Anthem" fails that the Internet has to offer.
Vote up the funny "National Anthem" videos that make you laugh, or cringe, the most, and vote down any you think are actually pretty okay. Like, if it were your friend, you wouldn't feel bad enough for him or her to buy them a drink.
The best part of any of these bad "Star Spangled Banner" videos, by the way, is seeing the outraged faces of older white guys who clearly are not enjoying the "music" or seeing the cameras fade into the blank, staring, pained mugs of the players trying their hardest not to laugh, crack, or just look plain angry.Sing along, because after watching all of these, you'll probably forget most of the words yourself. They all just kind of turn into mush after a while.
