Every season, the NBA welcomes a large group of talented rookies, but several NBA draft picks turn out to be busts - 2016 is no different. Fans, organizations, and the league expected great things from the 2016-2017 NBA rookies, especially the top 10 draft picks. However, injuries, poor performances, and bad luck ruined the first year for many rookies. The following rookies are currently the biggest NBA draft busts of the 2016-2017 season.
Number one pick Ben Simmons had a rough start this season. Drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers, Simmons was supposed to be one of the league's best rookies and maybe even win NBA's Rookie of the Year. Unfortunately, the Australian forward injured his right ankle during a scrimmage during the preseason. Yet to play in the regular season, Ben Simmons is already looking like NBA's biggest draft bust in 2016-2017. Other 2016 draft picks who didn't live up to expectations include Los Angeles Lakers' Brandon Ingram and Boston Celtics' Jaylen Brown.
Vote up the rookies you think are the biggest NBA busts of 2016-2017. Feel free to add any other disappointing NBA rookies and NBA draft mistakes to the list. Then, cast your vote for the player who deserves to win the 2017 NBA Rookie of the Year Award.
