As millions sit housebound and starved for entertainment, Netflix has provided the gift that keeps on giving. Unsettling and completely bonkers documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness follows the bizarre story of Joseph Maldonado-Passage (AKA Joe Exotic), an exotic animal collector with two husbands, a flair for fashion, and a mind that just might bend toward slaughter.

Exotic’s oddball tale about his attempt to dispatch animal activist/thorn-in-his-side Carole Baskin took America by surprise as the twisted tale began trending, causing a much-needed distraction for millions.

From strange alleged cults to music videos about missing husbands, the weirdness and "WTF?" moments of the docuseries are myriad. Here is a look at the top 10 moments.

During the course of the docuseries, audiences are introduced to Bhagavan "Doc" Antle, another big cat collector and breeder who appears as an upscale version of Exotic. Running his own wildlife preserve in North Carolina, Antle is surrounded by women who do his bidding for a reported $100 a week.

According to a former staff member named Barbara, once you become part of Antle’s pack, you must give up your identity, including your name, and dedicate yourself to the preserve, the animals, and Antle himself.

  • Exotic's Husband Maldonado Ended His Life In What May Have Been A Tragic Mishap

Perhaps the darkest moment of Tiger King is when Exotic’s 23-year-old husband, Maldonado, takes his own life by placing a gun to his head and pulling the trigger. Exotic's former campaign manager Joshua Dial witnessed the event, and his reaction was filmed and edited into the documentary. His shock, surprise, and horror in the moment are reflected in full to the viewer.

It's believed the young man did not mean for the arm to go off, as the magazine was missing. There was a chance he didn't think it would fire, despite a bullet being in the chamber. The incident was ruled an accident by local police.

  • Exotic Was Sentenced To 22 Years In Prison

At the end of Tiger King, we learn that Exotic was found guilty of hiring someone to slay Baskin, as well as violating multiple wildlife laws, including the euthanizing of five tigers.

He received a 22-year prison sentence.

  • The Investigation Is Still Ongoing

While Exotic might be in prison, the players in the saga have stated that the story is far from over. As Exotic tells filmmakers, he plans on turning his former cohorts, friends, and business partners over to the police, directing his current husband, Dillon, to find hidden paperwork that implicates all of the key players.

As the docuseries comes to an end, the FBI says this story and investigation are still ongoing.
