List Rules Vote up the best neo-noir movies that have been released since 1990.

When you think "noir," you're likely to conjure images of movies from the 1940s. But plenty of newer films put their own spin on the genre, from forbidden love affairs to deadly conspiracies. The best new noir films feature brooding detectives, amateur crime-solvers, and sneaky criminals lurking at every turn. This is a list of the top recent noir movies including everything from Inception to Minority Report to Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

What films will you find on this list of the top recent noir movies? You won't be surprised to find Pulp Fiction here. Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson) are classic antihero archetypes as they lie, cheat, and kill within the boundaries of their own criminal code. Sin City is another great new noir film that features classic elements of the genre, such as voice over and shadowy lighting techniques. David Lynch's Mulholland Drive is full of many neo noir elements, but it breaks from tradition by placing women in the lead roles. Other good films included on this best new noir movies list include Fargo, The Prestige, and Shutter Island.

Which new noir movie do you think deserves the top spot on this list? Give your favorites a thumbs up to move them towards number one, and add any flicks that are missing.
