List Rules Vote up the best NHL players who retired in 2019

The best NHL players to retire in 2019 have left a lasting mark on the league. The average length of a career in the NHL is just 5.5 years, while more than half of professional hockey players last fewer than 100 games at the top level. That's what makes many of these players so remarkable.

They range from All-Stars like goalie Roberto Luongo to Stanley Cup winners like Brooks Orpik, but among the most impressive is certainly Rick Nash. In a 15-year career, Nash was a five-time All-Star who tied for the league lead in goals in just his second full season. Outside the league, Nash was also a two-time Olympic gold medalist with the Canadian national team.

So vote up the hockey players who retired in 2019 who made the greatest impact on the league, and check back throughout the year to see what new names get added to the list.
