Being a celebrity has got to be pretty weird. Lots of people recognize you, and may even think they understand you, but you don't know them. And if you achieved a Justin Bieber-like level of fame, getting bothered by fans would become a huge problem. Being famous means having zero privacy, so when a celebrity is approached by a non-celeb, they could be forgiven for attempting to brush the person off. It only makes sense that many stars would prefer to avoid fans and be left alone as much as possible.
But not every celebrity does that. In fact, there are a good number of famous people who are nice to normal people, and who don't seem to react to their fame at all. According to Redditors, these movie stars and musicians go out of their way to engage with fans, or to let staff working venues know they are appreciated. When people tell stories of nice celebrity encounters, they might highlight how unexpectedly normal the person was. Bill Murray, for instance, immediately began cracking jokes. And when it comes to the nicest celebrities, some may surprise you – like Kim Kardashian. Apparently she's a real sweetheart.
These tales of friendly celebrities suggest some stars were great people even before they got famous.

"John Cena was really cool when I met him at a mall thing for my brother years ago. Stayed for 8 hours to meet all the people lined up to see him. This was during his first big fame blow up so I'm sure he was busy. He also does a lot of Make a Wish stuff. Blends into his surroundings easily though."Is this heartwarming?

"Chris Pine is a f*cking gem. I met him at an after party where I used to work, I was an American girl in London. He was there with my friend's girlfriend and the girl he was seeing at the time, but they were off somewhere else.
He heard me speak with an American accent and proceeded to ask me [my] whole life story. We chatted for nearly an hour until some dudes came over to try and sell him on a script."Is this heartwarming?

"Matthew McConaughey. Met him at an airport. I was an employee and he had some TSA questions. Genuinely nice, we had a great chat for about 15 min. After he was set, we shook hands, he had his kids all thank me individually and shake my hand as well. His wife was reserved but nice as well.
When he then hopped in the TSA line, everyone FREAKED out in line and was taking pictures, swooning, etc. He looked me dead in the eye from across the terminal and gave me a light wave again and turned out around chuckling a bit.
Very good social interaction, would participate again."Is this heartwarming?

"Jay Leno. And please, hear me out. When I was 17 (this was in 2010), I got to go backstage at the Tonight Show because I was a huge fan of the show. After the show, he came into the green room and talked to me and my family for a solid ten minutes. After we had left the studio, we saw him in his car leaving the studio and signing autographs for fans.
The real kicker: the next year, I graduated high school. Out of nowhere, the dude sent me a fucking lettercongratulating me on that.
He couldn't have been nicer to me."Is this heartwarming?
