Nikita Dragun exploded onto the scene in 2013 with amazing hair and makeup tutorials on YouTube. Many in her quickly growing fan base assumed that she was just another talented girl who loved makeup. Dragun surprised many, though, when, in 2015, she came out as transgender online.
Also known as the Mother of Draguns, the beauty influencer has since become a role model and inspiration for trans people and whomever else follows her. She offers glimpses into her transition process and is extremely vocal about self love.
Dragun has grown immensely since her first video and is the creator of her own synthetic wig line in collaboration with the Bellami Hair company. One of the most recognizable beauty vloggers on social media, she can also be found on Instagram and Twitter where she serves bomb looks and words of advice.
In addition to the success, Dragun's had a fair share of drama since her debut. The biggest was probably her involvement with a controversial ad campaign ran by the infamous Jeffree Star. Despite any bumps in the road, though, Mama Dragun's fans have continued to support her and eagerly await all of her future slayage.
Nikita Dragun made her debut in 2013, launching an Instagram and YouTube account that people immediately fell in love with. Now she has over 700,000 YouTube subscribers and a mighty 1.6 million followers on Instagram. She affectionately refers to her fan base as little draguns.
Fans of Nikita Dragun's amazing pics don't have to wait long to see how she creates such awesome looks. After her YouTube launch, she began collaborating with big personalities like Patrick Starrr, Laura Lee, and Karen Sarahii (just check out this amazing Spice Girls tutorial).
After becoming a big name herself, Dragun created a video detailing her male-to-female makeup routine, surprising a great deal of fans who showed their love and support in response.
In 2015, Nikita Dragun moved to Los Angeles to not only expand her horizons but her career as well. Upon arrival in the glitzy town, she connected with members of the LGBTQ community who offered guidance and love. Dragun was also able to meet so many more people in her viewing audience. Not long after her male-to-female makeup tutorial, she made an emotional and empowering video about being transgender and the struggle to be her truest self. She iconically noted:
"Today basically I just want to be able to put my story out there and my message, because... I just want there to be a time [when] no one has to hide who they are."
After coming out, the makeup guru began devoting special videos to her transition process and giving an in-depth look at her surgeries. Nikita Dragun openly detailed her face and breast surgeries in addition to describing the effects of her hormones and specific things about her trans identity.
Dragun hopes that her honesty will help people in and outside the trans community gain perspective.
