Wholesome Films That Sound Like Horror Movies When You Describe The Plot

List Rules
Vote up the films that sound just like a horror movie at second glance.

Sometimes when you watch a beloved childhood film as an adult, you see it through a completely different lens. A storyline you once thought was funny, silly, or plausible now seems totally weird or even downright creepy. Over on Reddit, people are sharing beloved films that aren't traditional horror movies, but when you take a closer look at the plot, seem absolutely terrifying.

The Santa Clause with Tim Allen.

Tim Allen puts on the Santa suit and over the course of a year, "Santa's magic" acts like a virus slowly taking over Tim Allen's host body. He has no say in any of it and nobody to walk him through the transformation.

In the sequel, he's then forced to take a wife who basically must leave her job, life, and family to become a chambermaid who doesn't do anything except having Tim Allen's Santa babies.

Also, nobody cares when the first Santa dies. None of the elves are concerned when Tim Allen shows up and just treats him like an a**hole for being confused. Like how horrible was the original Santa that nobody cared when he died? Also, where's his wife? Did she disappear?

Sh*t is so weird and creepy.

Gigi. Everyone is trying to turn the sweet young girl into a much older man’s mistress. The fact that he’s known her since she was a toddler makes it even grosser.

The Truman Show. A man's entire life is secretly filmed, and events like his dad dying, even relationships, were never real.

Mrs. Doubtfire - a disturbed man dresses as an old woman to stalk his children and ex-wife by masquerading as the nanny.
