With the life expectancy (at least in the United States) now at 81 for women, and 76 for men, sometimes you just don't realize how far back that goes. That means people born in the '30s and '40s are quite possibly still alive and kickin'. You hear it's a famous rock star's birthday and your first thought is, "Wait, they're still alive?" This is especially true when it comes to the hard living rock stars on this list. These are the old rock stars you had no idea were still alive.

Luckily for fans of rock music, many of the rock stars from days gone by are shockingly still with us today. Somehow. They lived lively, full, hard lives full of excitement and... other, possibly not-legal things. We can only imagine the stories they have to tell from their decades of madness.

Some of the rock stars on this list were even around for the very beginning of rock and roll. How have these musicians made it into old age? Cast your votes below for the rock stars you had no idea were still alive. The ages of these rock stars might surprise you!
