"Only God Forgives" movie quotes take viewers on the dark and violent tale of the vengeful actions remaining family members take against an "Angel of Death" cop after a series of murders. The crime thriller was written and directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, who previously saw success with the neo-noir drama "Drive." After its debut at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, "Only God Forgives" was released in the United States on July 19, 2013.

In "Only God Forgives," Julian (Ryan Gosling) is an American running a successful drug smuggling ring in Bangkok, Thailand, an operation he runs out of a boxing gym. Julian learn from a friend that his brother Billy (Tom Burke) was recently murdered by Choi Yan Lee (Kovit Wattanakul), the father of a 16-year-old prostitute Billy raped and murdered shortly before. Billy's murder was overseen by Lieutenant Chang (Vithaya Pansringarm), also known as the "Angel of Death," who allowed the murder but also cut off Choi's arms for allowing his daughter to prostitute.

Surprisingly, Julian's mother, Crystal (Kristin Scott Thomas), arrives in Bangkok seeking vengeance against those responsible for Billy's death. Though a combination of emotional abuse and merciless bullying, Crystal tries to urge Julian to kill Choi, the spark that sets off a serious of highly violent and deadly events that leave many dead along the way.

The dark crime drama of "Only God Forgives" is not for everyone but there are many other movies out at the same time such as "Girl Most Likely," "Red 2," "R.I.P.D.," "Pacific Rim," "Grown Ups 2," "The Lone Ranger," "Despicable Me 2," "The Heat," "White House Down," "World War Z," "Man of Steel," "This Is the End," "After Earth," "Fast and Furious 6," "The Hangover Part III," "The Great Gatsby," "Oblivion," "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," and "Olympus Has Fallen."

Crystal: "I have just traveled 10,000 miles to see the corpse of my first-born son."

Crystal, clearly not putting up with anyone's nonsense, lays into the front desk attendant at the hotel in Bangkok in which she's staying. Sure she is upset having to travel following the death of her son but that doesn't give her permission to be rude.

Crystal: "So, tell me, Mai, what line of work are you in?"
Mai: "I'm an entertainer."
Crystal: "An entertainer, and how many cops can you entertain with that cute little c** dumpster of yours? What do you think of his line of work? I'm not talking about the f** boxing club. I'm talking about where the money comes from. You know what he does, right? He deals drugs, Mai, heroin, cocaine. That's where the money comes from. That's how he can afford to pay you to f*** him… Oh, great. I'll get the crab. He'll have the spicy chicken and May here will have a salad with the dressing on the side."
Mai: "It's Mai."
Crystal: "I'm sorry. I apologize for my behavior. It's just that I am a little upset. I have lost my first son."
Mai: "I'm sorry for that."
Crystal: "Thank you. It's good to know someone cares cause I swear to god sometimes I think Julian hated Billy. Maybe hate is the wrong word but you were always jealous of him. You know the way boys are, May, competitive. With Billy being the older brother and having a bigger c***, it's a… Julian's was never small but Billy's was, it was enormous. How can you compete with that?"

In a brash and highly awkward dinner exchange between mother Crystal, son Julian and Julian's lady friend, Crystal lays into Julian about her ideas that Julian felt resentment towards his brother Billy. Through all of the accusations and harsh languages, Julian remains completely silent.

Crystal: "I know it's hard for you. You've lost your brother. I've lost my first son. It pains me to say this to you, it would pain any mother. If the tables were turned, your brother would have found your killer and would have brought me his head on a f****** platter!"

At the awkward dinner, Crystal continues to lay into son Julian about how he and his brother Billy are so different. She wants Julian to feel guilty and she wants Julian to step up and take out whoever is responsible for Billy's death.

Crystal: "Did you get the guy that did it?"
Julien: "It's a little more complicated than that, mother. He raped and killed a 16-year-old girl."
Crystal: "Well, I'm sure he had his reasons."

Julian tries to give mother Crystal some perspective on why he's not eager to kill the man responsible for his brother Billy's death. Crystal on the other hand is not hearing it and still backing Billy regardless of the circumstances.
