"Pacific Rim" movie quotes tell the action-packed tale of what happens when creatures from a portal beneath the Pacific Ocean attack humans and the people of earth are forced to fight back. The science fiction movie was directed by Guillermo del Toro using a story by Travis Beacham and a screenplay both collaborated on to write. Distributed by Warner Bros., "Pacific Rim" was released in 3D and IMAX 3D on July 12, 2013.

In "Pacific Rim," large, robotic creatures rise known as Kaiju out of a crevasse hidden deep in the Pacific Ocean and begin their attempt to exterminate all life on planet earth. The humans fight back but are soon overpowered by the massive size and strength of the beings. To fight back on an equal playing field, humans, with the help of Kaiju expert Dr. Newton Geizler (Charlie Day), develop the Jaeger Program to create large robotic beings of their own, each of which require two humans to operate.

Stacker Pentecost (Isris Elba) is the commanding officer in charge of leading the human forces against the Kaiju and needs help to get a victory. He enlists the help of washed up pilot Raleigh Becket (Charlie Hunnam) to operate a key Jaeger. Along with his co-pilot Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi), the crew attempts to come together to fight against their relentless enemy.

For something a bit less futuristic, there are lots of other movies in theaters at the same time including "Grown Ups 2," "The Lone Ranger," "Despicable Me 2," "The Heat," "White House Down," "World War Z," "Man of Steel," "This Is the End," "The Bling Ring," "The Internship," "The Purge," "After Earth," "Fast and Furious 6," "The Hangover Part III," "The Great Gatsby," "The Big Wedding," "Oblivion," "Scary Movie 5," "Evil Dead," "Jurassic Park 3D," "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," "Olympus Has Fallen," "Admission," "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone."

    The Jaeger Program

    Video: YouTube

Raleigh Becket: "We always thought alien life would come from the stars but it came from deep beneath the sea, a portal beneath dimensions in the Pacific Ocean. Something out there had discovered us. The first Kaiju made land in San Francisco. The second attack hit Manilla. Then the third one hit Cabo. Then we learned this was not going to stop. In order to fight monsters, we created monsters of our own. We needed a new weapon. The Jaeger Program was born. Two pilots, our minds, our memories, we were connected when man and in machine become one. We started winning, then it all changed. They counted on the humans to hide, to give up, to fail. We never considered our ability to stand, to endure, that we would rise to the challenge."

Raleigh Becket gives an overview of the current state of things in the film when he explains that creatures from a portal beneath the Pacific Ocean have attacked humans around the world. The creatures, the Kaiju, never intended on getting any fight from the humans but were surprised when the humans made the Jaeger Program to fight back on a level playing field.

    Canceling the Apocalypse

    Video: YouTube

Stacker Pentecost: "Everyone, listen up! Today, at the edge of our hope, at the end of our time, we've chosen to not only to believe in ourselves but in each other. Today there's not a man or woman in here who will stand alone. Today we face the monsters that are at our door. Today we are canceling the apocalypse!"

Stacker Pentecost gives a pretty convincing motivational talk to his troops right before they head into battle. He reinforces that they are all in this together and together they will succeed.

    Video: YouTube

Computer Voice: "Gypsy Danger, report to bay 208, Kaiju, category three… Pilot-to-pilot connection engaged."

In the highly technological world they live in, the computer can sense the threat of a Kaiju in the area and automatically call on soldiers to prepare for the battle.
