Paul Rudd is dreaminess and charm personified, and if you caught the 2019 Academy Awards ceremony where he presented, you likely noticed he is seemingly ageless as well. From young Paul Rudd in teen romances like Clueless and the '90s TV classic Sisters to funny Paul Rudd in This Is 40 and Anchorman, from serious Paul Rudd in The Object of My Affection and The Cider House Rules to superhero Paul Rudd in Ant-Man and the Wasp and Avengers: Endgame, we all know he is a talented and versatile actor. But he's just a nice guy, too.
Rudd was born in Passaic, NJ, on April 6, 1969. Though his family moved around, much of his childhood and adolescence were spent in Kansas. He attended the University of Kansas, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and the British American Drama Academy before landing his first professional role on Sisters. Since 2003, Rudd has been married to Julie Yaeger; they have a son and daughter.
Drawing from Paul Rudd appearances and interviews, as well as comments from his colleagues, let's take a look at how wonderful he really is.

He Sang 'Oops!... I Did It Again' With Stephen Colbert's Daughter - Repeatedly
During Rudd's 2014 interview with Stephen Colbert, Colbert told a heart-melting story about Rudd:
One of the first times I ever met you, I was on the set of some TV show. My daughter was there, at age 6, and she was bored, and you sang "Oops!... I Did It Again" with her, over and over again, to keep her entertained. And my wife [said] - and I agree with her - that that might make you the nicest person on the planet. Is this charming?

His Awesomeness Made Him A Permanent Part Of 'Friends'
Rudd played Phoebe's eventual husband, Mike Hannigan, on Friends. Hank Azaria, who portrayed one of Phoebe's ex-boyfriends, told The Huffington Post that wasn't part of the producers' original plan:
Paul Rudd is so awesome that they sort of found a groove with him. He certainly has gone on to prove that he was comedically deserving of Phoebe's love. He's a handsome devil. He's actually annoyingly handsome. He shouldn't really be allowed to be that handsome. He's like the Tom Brady of comedy. Is this charming?

His British Parents Inspired His Politeness And Love Of Tea
Rudd's parents were born and raised in the UK, which he points to as the source of his politeness - and his love of tea. As he told The Guardian:
Tea has always been a big thing in my life. And I’m not talking about Liptons with lemon or iced tea, or any of that nonsense. Has to be hot PG Tips with milk. So growing up [in the States], it was a constant struggle.
As far as his politeness, he told The New York Times, "I like when people are polite and kind to other people. I just think life is so hard, why make it harder?"Is this charming?

He Only Takes Roles In Movies That He'd Be Interested In Seeing
CNN asked Rudd in 2008 what attracted him to the roles he's taken. His answer demonstrates an ideology that is both strong and sensible. "99 percent of the time I just say I want to do it if I'd want to see it," he said.
I kind of decided a long time ago that I was going to try to make a career work on my own terms as much as possible. I mean, you know you don't always have the options you'd like, but I just decided however long or bumpy the route was, I would do it doing things that I liked and was genuinely interested in and wanted to do.Is this charming?
