All The People Accused Of Sexual Harassment Post-Harvey Weinstein

Since news broke of Harvey Weinstein's alleged misconduct, a tidal wave of other famous people have been accused of sexual harassment. The first step to changing what is clearly a broken and dangerous power structure is to listen to the reported victims and learn the names of the accused people. When we recognize how these men operate, we can take the necessary steps to end their egregious behavior. As actress and Weinstein accuser Rose McGowan put it, this behavior "cannot and will not stand."

The list of alleged sexual harassers in Hollywood and beyond is long, and it is growing by the day. It includes men, like Weinstein, who are major behind-the-scenes players and power brokers; actors who have attained legendary status; newsmen who have built long and respected careers; celebrity chefs, former presidents, and women, too. Toxic masculinity is everywhere - these people accused after Harvey Weinstein are living proof of that.

Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler was accused of sexual misconduct by four people, detailed August 27, 2022, in Pitchfork - though the singer claims the relationships were consensual.

The people said the alleged interactions took place from 2016 to 2020, when they were between the ages of 18 and 23, and Butler was 36 to 39.

Butler released a statement denying all accusations, writing: "There is no easy way to say this, and the hardest thing I have ever done is having to share this with my son. The majority of these relationships were short lived, and my wife is aware - our marriage has, in the past, been more unconventional than some. I have connected with people in person, at shows, and through social media, and I have shared messages of which I am not proud. Most importantly, every single one of these interactions has been mutual, and always between consenting adults. It is deeply revisionist, and frankly just wrong, for anyone to suggest otherwise. I have never touched a woman against her will, and any implication that I have is simply false. I vehemently deny any suggestion that I forced myself on a woman or demanded sexual favors. That simply, and unequivocally, never happened. While these relationships were all consensual, I am very sorry to anyone who I have hurt with my behavior. Life is filled with tremendous pain and error, and I never want to be part of causing someone else’s pain.”

Sources from the production of the AppleTV+ miniseries Master of the Air told Rolling Stone in a May 31, 2022, report that director  Cary Fukunaga has shown an “absolute, clear-cut abuse of power” when interacting with young women on set.

They alleged that Fukunaga was trying to engage in romantic relationships with these women. The accusations come after a 23-year-old actress and skateboarder alleged on Instagram that Fukunaga had groomed her when she was just a teenager, after approaching her at a skateboard park to offer her a role in a commercial.

His lawyer denied the claims, releasing a statement to Rolling Stone saying, “There is nothing salacious about pursuing friendships or consensual romantic relationships with women… No one ever - not once - voiced such sentiments… He creates a work environment that is creative, collaborative and welcoming to all."

Matthew Morrison was fired as a judge on So You Think You Can Dance after one of the female contestants complained that he sent her “inappropriate” flirty messages, per a May 31, 2022, report.

A source told People that Morrison was fired for having “an inappropriate relationship with a female contestant.” The source added, “They didn’t have sex, but he reached out to her through flirty direct messages on social media. She felt uncomfortable with his line of comments and went to producers, who then got Fox involved. He was fired after they did their own investigation.”

I cannot apologize enough to all involved,” Morrison said.

  • Chris Noth
    Age: 68
    • Birthplace: Madison, Wisconsin, USA

Two women approached The Hollywood Reporter, separately, regarding sexual assault allegations against Sex and the City, and And Just Like That star Chris Noth. Reportedly, the promotions for the new show were triggering enough that the women felt the need to step forward. According to the December 16, 2021, report, one incident occurred in Los Angeles in 2004, while the other was said to happen in New York in 2015. Both women, who used pseudonyms, were between 20 and 40 years younger than Noth at the times of the alleged rapes.

Noth denied all of the allegations in a statement to Us Weekly the same day the THR report came out, saying, "The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago - no always means no - that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”

    • Birthplace: New York City, New York, United States of America

In August 2020, 30 women came forward with accusations of unwanted touching by Cuba Gooding, Jr. He faces three counts of forcible touching and three counts of sex abuse to the third degree, in separate incidents involving three different women in New York.

The actor denies all wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty to all charges. In court, his attorney said, "We believe that the video unequivocally will show that Cuba committed absolutely no crime and we expect this case to be dismissed in one day."

  • Kip Pardue

In July 2019, SAG-AFTRA found Kip Pardue guilty of misconduct, and fined him $6,000 for harassing actress Sarah Scott in 2018. In a letter sent to Scott (and shared with the LA Times), SAG-AFTRA said Kip Pardue's behavior was "inconsistent" with their code of conduct. This comes after Scott reported Pardue had become aroused while filming a scene for Mogulettes and placed Scott's hand on his groin. She also alleged that he then invited her to his dressing room and masturbated in front of her.

The organization said that if Pardue takes an online workplace sexual harrassment training module within 90 days of receiving his letter, his fine will be reduced to $3,000.
