It’s an achievement very few people have managed: snagging the coveted EGOT. Also known as an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony. The amazing entertainment fete takes true talent, as the EGOT winners on this list prove.
Taking home just one award might be the best moment of someone’s career, but taking home all four of entertainment’s biggest prizes gives these professionals legendary status. No wonder 30 Rock’s Tracy Jordan bought himself a bling-ed out EGOT necklace on his (fictional) road to the top.
Who is the most famous EGOT winner? Big screen superstars Audrey Hepburn and Barbra Streisand should be at the top of any list. Then there’s the goddess Liza Minnelli. She won an Oscar for Cabaret, an Emmy Award for Liza with a ‘Z’. A Concert for Television, Tony Awards for Flora the Red Menace, The Act and Liza's at The Palace...!, and a Special Grammy Legend Award. Not to be outdone by the ladies, Mel Brooks, Christopher Plummer and Harry Belafonte are also well known stars who have EGOTs. In 2018, songwriter Robert Lopez because the first person in history to double EGOT, and John Legend became the second youngest EGOT winner.
Actors aren’t the only ones who have won all four awards. Plenty of composers, producers, and songwriters made the list as of EGOT winners as well. Who is the most surprising EGOT winner? (Ahem, Whoopi Goldberg?!) Share your thoughts in the comments section.
