People who should be in the Basketball Hall of Fame are those stellar members of professional or college basketball who have been snubbed by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Based in Springfield, Massachusetts, the hall honors the great players, coaches, referees and other contributors to the game of basketball. Since 1959, over 150 people have been inducted into the hall during their annual ceremonies each fall.

In order to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, a player must be fully retired for at least five years and earn their induction based on voting by a committee. Each year, those who are nominated and receive 75% or more of the votes can be inducted, though the Hall's Board of Trustees does have a final veto. Because of those guidelines, over the years many have been snubbed from induction.

Arguably some of the best NBA players of all time have not been inducted for one reason or another. Sidney Moncrief, George McGinnis, Marques Johnson and Max Zaslofsky are just a few of those names. These are multiple-year NBA All-Star selections, NBA champions and MVP award winners yet they fail to make the Basketball Hall of Fame.

While the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame should be a place where only the elite are honored for their contributions to the game, these men and women certainly have earned their right to induction. The good news is that many may still make it, eventually. Vote for your favorite players not in the Basketball Hall of Fame below then head over and vote for the people who should be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame too!
