The second iteration of the PlayStation console has proven to be one of the more popular consoles in history. As it staved off competition from Microsoft and Sega, it also incorporated online multiplayer -- something that hadn't been done before on a console, which is a very weird thing to say. Yes, at one point, video game consoles did not connect to the Internet. This list is all about those characters from these video games that appeared only on the PlayStation 2 (for consoles; we're not counting PC or Mac). 

Sony had a great number of exclusive titles that went on to great commercial and critical acclaim, and from those titles came a number of video game characters that many consider iconic today. Whether a popular RPG that's since won awards, or a tactical stealth shooter in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, that showed the original in this era of Metal Gear was no fluke, there is many a character that has affected us in impactful ways.
