The Complete Timeline Of The MCU Since 'Endgame'

Although the MCU Phase Four timeline is still in the middle of being fleshed out for fans, plenty has happened since Avengers: Endgame hit theaters in 2019. Between all of the theatrical films and the ever-expanding amount of Disney+ shows, Phase Four is shaping up to be the biggest chapter of the MCU yet.

You've got Wanda accidentally creating her own reality in WandaVision. You've got Shang-Chi battling the Dweller-in-Darkness and saving the birthplace of his mother, Ta-Lo, in the process. You've got Sam Wilson taking on the mantle of Captain America as he struggles against the Flag Smashers. And don't get us started with Peter Parker... that kid has a lot going on. Also, we don't really know what is up with Loki's place in the timeline, so that is being entirely left out for the time being. Sorry, God of Mischief fans! We still love you!

  • Early October 2023: The Avengers Conceive, Prep, And Complete The Time Heist

Avengers: Infinity War left Earth's Mightiest Heroes reeling, but they got themselves together enough to chase down Thanos out in space with the help of Nebula. Unfortunately, he used the Infinity Stones to destroy the Infinity Stones, and Thor ended up cutting off his head in anger. Yikes.

Five miserable years passed until early October 2023 when Scott Lang returned to Earth from the weird confines of the Quantum Realm. He brought the idea of the "Time Heist" to Captain America and the Black Widow, and bada bing, bada boom... said heist was planned to perfection after Tony Stark figured out time travel (!!!). Sure, things went a bit wonky along the way, but the Avengers got the job done as they traveled back to the greatest hits of the MCU and returned to 2023 with all six Infinity Stones. All that was left was to figure out who would use them to undo the "blip" and bring everyone back to life.

  • Mid-October 2023: Hulk Ends The 'Blip' And Thanos Battles The Universe's Collected Heroes Before Tony Stark Snaps Thanos Out Of Existence

With Thor in serious "ice cream and beer" shape, the daunting task of using the Infinity Stones to bring back half of all life in the universe fell upon the shoulders of the permanently Hulked-out Bruce Banner. Good thing Tony Stark built the Iron Gauntlet to shapeshift, huh? Hulk wouldn't have been able to put an Iron Man-sized gauntlet on that meaty fist of his.

Though the Stones charred his arm to a crisp, Hulk managed to bring everyone back, and the heroes all converged on the Avengers' location (thanks to Doctor Strange and Wong) to fight a time-displaced Thanos who hadn't been beheaded by Thor. The massive battle was the stuff of nerdy dreams everywhere as each MCU hero had their moment in the sun. At the end of the day, Iron Man tricked Thanos, grabbed the Infinity Stones for himself, and snapped the Mad Titan and his alien horde out of existence. Sadly, Stark's body couldn't handle such power and he passed shortly after.

  • Late October 2023: Peter Parker Goes Back To School As Midtown's Academic Year Restarts

One of the superheroes Thanos snapped out of existence was Spider-Man, which means Peter Parker was erased from existence in the middle of earning his high school diploma. Upon returning five years later, Parker picked back up where he left off and began another school year at the Midtown School of Science and Technology.

In a stroke of luck that surely had nothing to do with the MCU masters pulling the strings, Peter's best friend Ned was also snapped into nothingness by Thanos. This meant the dynamic duo could continue their education and friendship unabated. It would've been a pretty awkward reunion for the guys had Ned lived five long years in Peter's absence.

  • Late October 2023: The Avengers Gather For Tony Stark's Funeral

In recognition of the friend who gave his life to save everyone else's, the majority of the major MCU characters attended Tony Stark's funeral in late October 2023. It really was a "who's who" of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The major players like Captain America, Thor, and Hulk were there. Newcomers like Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, and the Guardians of the Galaxy paid their respects, as well. And, of course, the crew that had been with Stark from the beginning - Pepper Potts, James Rhodes, Happy Hogan, and Nick Fury - were in attendance.

Pretty much every person who was still alive following the Infinity Saga's end was there. Even the kid from Iron Man 3 showed up and hardly anyone recognized him. Puberty hits some people harder than others, and that guy really shot up to a taller height than you'd expect.
