According to numerous studies, there is an affliction known as childhood amnesia, which suggests that people simply cannot recall memories of events that occurred before they reached the ages of two or three. The reasoning behind this is that, at that age, a person's brain has not yet developed enough to be able to retain such memories. However, some people still claim that they do in fact have memories that reach further back than their toddler years.

Researchers suggest that these memories are not really memories at all, but are instead visualizations of stories people have heard and pictures they've seen. A psychologist named Julia Shaw states that anything someone thinks they remember from before the age of two-and-a-half is a false memory. The human memory is a very strange thing and cannot always be trusted.

Still, there are many stories out there that contradict this belief. Many people have claimed that they have memories from when they were infants. So, are these really just false memories or is the answer actually more complicated? What's even more interesting to consider is the fact that many people, both children and adults, have claimed to have experienced pre-birth memories - some people claim they even remember their past lives.

Claims such as these can make any person feel a bit skeptical, but many of these stories have come from children who would have been too young to make up such an elaborate tale. The following are real-life stories that'll make even the biggest skeptic reconsider the existence of pre-birth memories.

He Wasn't Always A Little Boy, He Used To Be A Woman Named Pam

This story goes into the controversial topic of previous lives and reincarnation. A woman named Erika shared the story of how her son Luke always talked about his previous life as a woman named Pam. Before he started talking about Pam, Erika noticed that he was always concerned about safety. Another thing that struck Erika as weird about his behavior was the fact he started naming everything Pam. When she asked him why he simply said, "I just think it’s a nice name."

Then he began saying things like, "When I was a girl, I had black hair" or "I used to have earrings like that when I was a girl." Erika's confusion grew until she finally asked him what the deal with Pam was. Then he told that he used to be Pam. She had no clue what he could be talking about until he said to her, "I used to be, but I died. I went up to heaven, and I saw God, and he pushed me back down and when I woke up, I was a baby and you named me Luke."

But this was not the end of her story. Erika started doing some research, asked Luke how Pam died, and then he told her about a fire that happened in Chicago, and that Pam had to jump out of a building and fell to her death. Then Erika found out about Paxton Hotel fire in Chicago in 1993, where one Pamela Robinson was killed.

A Boy Who Remembers Details From His Birth

The story goes that a woman named Nicola, who was a 4th grade teacher, had the honor of being present for the birth of her friend's baby boy, Michael. Tragically, the mother fell ill and died just a few months later, and Nicola fell out of touch with the family and the new baby boy. That is, until he showed up as a student in her 4th grade class years later.

One day, when the class was discussing early childhood memories, Michael began sharing one of his - from just before he was born. He listed in great detail things that only Nicola could have known, such as the fact that the car they were driving in was grey, the song that came on the radio as they drove, and even that they got lost on their way to the hospital. Before this, neither Nicola nor Michael had ever spoken about this.

A Woman Watched Her Own Birth

One woman claims that she remember witnessing her own birth. She even goes into great detail describing everything from what it looked like outdoors to seeing her mother preparing to give birth in the bedroom. "All of a sudden I was in the room, peering between the woman's legs and watching the birth from the foot of the bed." The last thing she remembered was that "the room was dark and a bit cold, there were other people in there but [she] couldn't tell who they were." She ends by saying, "After that I can only assume my soul became embodied and I was born."

A Boy's Great-Grandma Helped Him Pick His Body While They Were In Space

Children often have vivid imaginations, but under normal circumstances they cannot actually recall facts about people they've never met. However, a boy named Casper told his mother - at the ripe young age of three - that he had had conversations with his great-grandma, Evelyn. She had passed away long before Casper was born, and while his mother had shared a few memories about her with Casper, he remembered far more than she ever told him.

He informed his mother that "before I came here, I was up in space, where Evelyn lives. Evelyn, you know her, Mama, and we know you." He went on to tell his mother how Evelyn helped him choose his body. Evelyn even gave Casper a message to give to his mother, which was, "You get a present and that’s your son."
