In the history of the presidency, there hasn’t been a commander in chief that’s as inarguably cool as President Obama. Obama's best appearances usually happen on late night television, or on outlier news services like Vice. But which cool Obama appearances are the coolest?
In 2015, President Obama caused a stir when he was a guest on WTF with Marc Maron, a long running comedy program. It wasn’t weird that Obama was on a comedy show, it was just weird to hear Obama on podcasts in general. That kind of ability to sit down with anyone and talk about anything is why Obama's media appearances are all so stellar. But which of Obama’s media appearances are the best? Are you more of a Between Two Ferns kind of guy, or would you rather watch Obama talk about his fear of bears with a guy named Bear? You can let the world know with your votes below, ranking President Obama's coolest media appearances.Vote up what you think are the coolest Barack Obama interviews and appearances!
Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee
If you can make it past Jerry Seinfeld talking about his car, this full interview is worth watching just to see the President talk about how weird it is to actually be the President. And he gets a few zingers off on Seinfeld too. The whole thing is worth a watch.
Between Two Ferns
In order to reach young voters and encourage them sign up for health insurance, President Obama paid a visit to Zach Galifianakis's often troubling and always hilarious Between Two Ferns. But rather than creating a piece of PSA fluff, the President embraces the chaotic and off-putting spirit of the show and verbally goes toe to toe with the show's host for about six of the funniest and most cringeworthy minutes you'll ever watch.
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Final Appearance)
President Obama's final appearance on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart could have been a glossy look back at the President's two terms in office. Instead, he began the interview with a discussion of the failures of the VA and he handed out plenty of burn sauce to the Tea Party.
Late Show with David Letterman
"How much do you weigh?" might be the funniest thing anyone has ever asked a sitting President. This interview (one of Letterman's last) is filled to the brim with jokes. Something about Letterman seems to put Obama at ease, making many wish these two were on TV with each other every night.
