Real Band Names Inspired by Star Wars

The Cantina Band may be the hottest act in the Star Wars galaxy, but here on Earth, many artists have been inspired by George Lucas' masterpiece when coming up with their songs and even their band names. Some bands named after Star Wars took their monikers directly from popular characters while others were inspired by lines of dialogue. Rock, metal, hip-hop and more genres all have artists with Star Wars names.

What acts will you find on this real Star Wars band names list? RJD2 has to be near the top. DJ and producer RJD2's name is inspired by the Star Wars Droid R2-D2. Some of RJD2's most popular songs include “A Beautiful Mine,” “Ghostwriter,” and “Final Frontier.” Hip-hop group Jedi Mind Tricks' name is inspired by the technique of using The Force to implant a suggestion in someone's mind.

Eisley's name is derived from a location on Tatooine. Other real bands with Star Wars inspired names include Nerf Herder, Droid, and Bossk.

In 1999 second rapper Jus Allah joined the group to record their second studio album, Violent by Design. Jus left the group shortly after, but returned in late 2006 and began working on the sixth studio album, A History of Violence. In 2011 Stoupe left the group because "his heart wasn't in making JMT records anymore". In 2013, Jus split from the group indefinitely, and Stoupe returned in 2015.
