I got yelled at by multiple mgrs once for telling a table we’d run out of house made bread because…we’d run out of it. They said “customers should never know we’re out of something, it makes us sound unprofessional” like…ok?? But we’re out? I thought I was going insane
One time my relative wanted me to quit my housekeeping job because “you’re better than that” and I immediately explained to him that the degrading part of my job was not the work itself but how I was treated by people for doing the work.
