The success of RuPaul's Drag Race is incredible; doubly-so because of the climate in which it exists. It turns out that people, no matter their political ideology or religious beliefs, just love watching fierce drag queens compete to see who is the most fabulous. (Though racism seems alive and well in the fan community. Can't win them all, I guess.)
But there's another thing that makes RPDR stand out from other types of television: as a reality show, it inspires its viewership to create fandom art at a level usually reserved for nerds or tweens (think: MCU, Lord of the Rings, Twilight, Sherlock, Supernatural, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter.)
In this way, the contestants and hosts of RuPaul's Drag Race are both creators and muses of the divine. (Or maybe just Divine herself.) Below, some of the more fantastical pieces of fan art from the show.
