Spoilers, Spoilers, SPOILERS, SPOILERS! This is a list of the saddest Star Wars deaths in all the films - from The Phantom Menace to The Rise of Skywalker. You've been warned.
The Star Wars universe is crazy dangerous. There are just so many ways to die in that place. With giant man-eating creatures around every turn, blasters that can kill in one shot, lightsabers, and the power of the Force, Star Wars death scenes abound. Some you're okay with - one fewer Stormtrooper to get past isn't a bad thing for our heroes - but then there are the tragic scenes you'll find on this list of sad Star Wars deaths, the ones that make you feel the feels.
From broken hearts to betrayal by family members, lightsaber duels to old age, the saddest Star Wars character deaths come in many forms.
Han, old buddy. You may have seen this coming, but that doesn't make it any less sad. He's one of the most beloved characters in the Star Wars universe and the only thing that could end his life was the love he had for his son.
The carrying out of Order 66 was one of the most gut-wrenching sequences in all the films. Nearly all the Jedi we'd come to know and love were betrayed and wiped out. The galaxy would never be the same.
Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker's passing was a troubling one. On the one hand, he was a really bad guy who helped wipe out the Jedi, but on the other, he was just that podracing kid who defeated Palpatine in the end.
Qui-Gon marched to the beat of his own drum and we loved him for it. Sure, without him there probably never would have been a Darth Vader to tear the galaxy apart, but we'll let that slide and mourn his passing nonetheless.
This was truly heartbreaking. The little guy trusted Anakin, coming out of hiding because he thought Master Skywalker was there to save them. Nope. Anakin slayed them all. It's easily one of the darkest sequences in all the films.
