List Rules Creepy and scary fictional places you're really glad aren't real. Upvote the scariest locales!
Some of the locations in our favorite scary movies, creepy TV shows, and mysterious works of fiction have become so iconic that they might as well be characters themselves. Can you hear the words "Haddonfield, Illinois" and not think of leafy, quiet streets being stalked by a masked Michael Myers? Would you buy a house in the fictional city of Cuesta Verde, California (we hear they move the tombstones but not the bodies)? Would you care for a swim off Amity Island or a moonlight walk through the Forbidden Forest? Didn't think so.
Lucky for us, these frightening fictional places from our nightmares don't really exist. Even though it's a thrill to visit them in a movie, book, or video game, we're kind of relieved that we won't ever end up in one of these spooky spots. From the darkest depths of Mordor, to the icy expanse beyond The Wall (where even Jon Snow can't keep you safe), these terrifying places in fiction are locations no one should ever have to go.
