Sleight movie quotes help tell the story portrayed in the film about a street musician who must rely on his magic skills to get out of a dangerous situation. The drama film was directed by J.D. Dillard using a screenplay he co-wrote with Alex Theurer. Sleight opened theatrically in the United States on April 28, 2017.
In Sleight, Bo (Jacob Latimore) is a young street musician, who, after the deaths of his parents, is raising and supporting his little sister Tina (Storm Reid). While he sees a little success as a street musician, and even meets a beautiful woman, Holly (Seychelle Gabriel), in the process, it's not enough to pay the bills.
So Bo takes work from local drug dealer Angelo (Dulé Hill). Initially the work is harmless, but after a while, Bo is invited to do more heavy lifting. So when Bo makes a major mistake, Angelo kidnaps Tina and threatens to kill her, Bo and everyone he knows. This puts Bo in a place where he's outnumbered and outgunned, but Bo has his magic skills which he must harness in order to rescue Tina.
How Did You Do That?
Bo: As you can see, there's no string at all. What's your name?
Holly: Uh, Holly
Bo: You can grab that, Holly.
Holly: How did you do that?
When Bo is performing a trick in the street in these Sleight movie quotes, he makes a new friend. Holly seems pretty impressed with his magic and Bo seems pretty impressed with Holly.
Just Me and My Little Sister
Holly: So, you do magic.
Bo: I mean, a little. My dad passed a while back and my mom passed this year. It's just me and my little sister, Tina, the love of my life.
As Bo and Holly get to know one another, Bo explains a bit about his family life. It's a bit of a sad story which ends with him raising his little sister, Tina.
We're Going to Pay Him a Little Visit
Angelo: You have been doing good. I've been hearing there's this new supplier in the area. I mean, he moves into our backyard and starts selling like I don't exist. We're going to pay him a little visit, talk to him about etiquette.
To make ends meet, Bo takes a job working for the local drug dealer, Angelo. Bo has been doing well in that and is asked to assist with a new, more dangerous, task.
I Messed Up Bad
Angelo: You got my money?
Bo: I messed up bad.
Angelo: I gave you a job when you needed it the most. I'm going to kill you and every person you know.
Bo makes a critical error which costs Angelo some money. As a result, and as Angelo informs Bo about in these Sleight movie quotes, the consequences are going to be deadly.
