Imagining Life in SpaceExploring the many ways space, space travels, and extraterrestrial life are depicted in film, TV, literature, anime, comics, and technology.
Whether they're set on Mars or an alien terrain from a galaxy far, far away, movies that place on other planets thrill viewers with science-fiction, heroics, and suspense. With all the work that goes into creating these worlds, however, sometimes the smallest details are what really make them shine. Fans online certainly seem to think so and have shared many of their favorites online. For example, in Avatar, when visiting an abandoned school on Pandora, Norm finds an old copy of Dr. Seuss' The Lorax, which is quite fitting for the plight of the Na'vi. In The Martian, Mark strikes a familiar 'thumbs up' pose when taking a photo for NASA-- he's mimicking Fonzie from Happy Days, which is the only TV show he has available in his habitat. Of course, no list featuring other planets would be complete with some Star Wars. If you've ever wondered why R2D2 can never seem to stay put when they're told to, blame Anakin Skywalker. In Revenge of the Sith, he tells R2D2 to stay behind but never returns to get him.
Check out this list of small details fans noticed in movies set on other planets, and don't forget to vote up your favorites!

Bishop Is Exactly Right About Remaining Time In 'Aliens'
In Aliens, Ripley asks Bishop how much time they have left. Bishop replies with 'plenty, 26 minutes.' There’s exactly 26 minutes from this moment until the credits roll at the end of the movie.
In Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Luke tells to R2 to remain in the ship in various events, he doesn't do it. The last person to said that to R2 was Anakin in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and he never returned.
In Thor: Ragnarok, Thor and Hulk argue. When Thor apologizes, instead of calling himself 'Hulk,' Hulk says 'I just get so angry all the time,' showing how Thor’s friendship brings out Hulk’s human side. This is the only time Hulk says 'I' in the MCU.
In Total Recall, when Quaid is going through his suitcase, you can see his disguise he later wears when arriving at Mars as a woman. You can even briefly see the mask for a few frames.
