List Rules Vote up the jam that flooded you with nostalgia.

Pop and R&B groups dominated the airwaves in the '90s and early 2000s, but what happens when some of the bands' lead singers strike out on their own? You get a ton of solo hits from famous group members you don't even remember. For example, did you know that one-hit wonder Ashley Parker Angel, formerly of O-Town, had a smash in the '00s with "Let U Go"? Who's heard from him since?

Girl groups have proven fruitful ground for solo hits you forgot about. Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss (formerly of Xscape) made some waves with "Don't Think I'm Not" in 2000, but was a bigger success as a songwriter than as a solo star. Other forgotten singles from former group members include the late, great Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes's little-known track "The Block Party" and Spice Girl Geri Halliwell's "Look at Me."

Other failed solo music careers came from boy band members. Nick Lachey's singing career didn't take off until his second album, while JC Chasez of *NSYNC never really got his momentum going.

Whether they faded from your memory or starred on your favorite mixtape, these forgotten solo tracks are sure to take you back.

Originally known as a member of '90s R&B girl group Xscape, Kandi Burruss also branched out on her own as an entrepreneur and Real Housewife. But her first loves are singing and songwriting (she co-wrote TLC's "No Scrubs," among others).

Burruss's first single off her debut solo disc, Hey Kandi..., was "Don't Think I'm Not." This song saw her kicking a no-good ex to the curb, and cracked the Top 40.

Jordan Knight – Give It To You (1999)

New Kid On The Block Jordan Knight made his solo start with the arguably creepy "Give It to You," co-written by Robin Thicke. The video for this 1999 single saw a turtleneck-clad Knight serenading a girl at a carnival. But the weird undertones didn't stop this song from breaking into the Billboard Top 100.

The track was Knight's only real solo success, although he did later link up with fellow ex-boy bander Nick Carter (of Backstreet Boys fame) for an EP under the name Nick & Knight.

Ashley Parker Angel – Let U Go (2006)

Former O-Town heartthrob Ashley Parker Angel branched out to do his own thing in the early 2000s. He started recording more rock-influenced music and filmed a reality show about his life and relationship called There & Back.

In 2006, Angel's debut solo single, "Let U Go," debuted at #17 on the Billboard Top 100, but his eventual album, Soundtrack to My Life, didn't follow suit success-wise. Angel didn't continue to light up the charts, but he has proven his musical theater skills and is a social media favorite today.

JC Chasez – Some Girls (Dance With Women) (2003)

As Billboard noted in a 2013 article, *NSYNC only yielded one superstar solo artist: Justin Timberlake. But why, when all five guys were talented (and there was also super-hunk JC Chasez to contend with)? Well, for one, by the time Chasez was about to release his solo stuff, Timberlake's work was already blowing up the charts and overshadowing his ex-bandmate's. And then there's the fact that Chasez's album – including the unsuccessful "Some Girls (Dance With Women)" – represented a complete lack of musical direction.
