Usually people want ice cream for a cool, refreshing bit of sweetness, but one Glasgow parlor specializes in an especially hot ice cream, so hot it comes with a set of rules on how to eat it. The video below delves into Respiro Diavolo, an ice cream made from chili peppers.
Unlike most ice creams, Respiro Diavolo, which translates to "Devil's Tongue," boasts a hot flavor, so hot in fact that it requires you to sign a waiver before taking your first bite. The dessert is made from Carolina Reapers, one of the hottest types of chili peppers in the world.
Even in a frozen form, the pepper's hot qualities manage to come across, to the point where the waiver itself sounds almost ridiculous. The waiver states that consumers are made aware of “a risk of personal injury, illness and possible loss of life.”
Plenty of people scream for ice cream, but dying over it sounds a bit excessive. Check out the video for this spicy ice cream below and consider whether or not you would take the risk.
