The splatter film genre is part of the horror genre and focus on graphic displays of gore and violence. The splatter movie genre has also been referred to as “torture porn” or “gorno” (gore + porno), but there are films in the genre with an element of comedy, such as Evil Dead II, and have been dubbed splatstick.
