Carrie Fisher, AKA the beloved Princess Leia, died on December 27, 2016, just after the release of Star Wars: Rogue One in which Leia was revived as a digital creation between Fisher's true appearances in Star Wars sequels. In this touching video, her fellow cast members pay her tribute.
Across the board, Fisher is remembered as kind, generous, and hilarious, and it's nice to know that for once, at least, an onscreen idol is just as beloved by people who knew her off screen, in real life.
Mark Hamill, Fisher's OG costar known as Luke Skywalker, says he doesn't think of her in the past, but only still in the present. Rian Johnson directed her final film, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which was released in 2017 nearly a year after Fisher's death. He says his only regret is having not met her sooner.
