Star Wars might be the biggest film franchise since sliced bread, but that doesn’t mean that everyone, especially your parents, is as up to date with the characters as you are. Sure, they’ve probably seen the films - at this point you’d be hard pressed to find anyone who hasn’t seen the original trilogy, but they probably wouldn’t know Luke Skywalker from Han Solo if their life depended on it. This list of funny Star Wars character descriptions is pretty much exactly what your mom and dad think of every character in the Star Wars universe. And remember, these are just the most popular (or in the case of Jar Jar Binks, infamous) characters in Star Wars, there’s no telling what they’d try to call Finn, or Poe Dameron of 2015's The Force Awakens. Settle in and try not to scream while your parents try to describe the characters from Star Wars.

Even if parents these days know who Darth Vader and Chewbacca are, can they name Boba Fett? Or Admiral Ackbar? We’re talking about moms and dads who have to pay bills and work in an office, they don’t have time to think about whether Han or Greedo shot first. Even if you asked them their opinion on the subject, they probably wouldn’t even care (which is ridiculous, everyone should have ready a manifesto on the subject at any given moment).

This list is all about what your parents think of Star Wars, and it’s more maddening than the death of Mace Windu. If your parents don’t know the difference between the Rebel Alliance and the Empire, tell everyone about it in the comments. You’re our only hope.
