Vote up the storylines you most want to see in the final season of Stranger Things.
For many Stranger Things fans, Season 4 is arguably the greatest in the series thus far. New revelations about the Upside Down, Eleven realizing her power's true potential, and Vecna's looming threat are all balanced beautifully by Kate Bush's music, the introduction of Eddie Munson, and the protagonists' developing relationships. The season makes for some compelling television, and with the fifth season being the last in the series, odds are the Duffer Brothers are going to turn the dial past 11 and deliver something truly memorable.
Fans have been all over the Internet presenting various theories and expectations for the forthcoming finale season, and there's a good chance some of them will be satisfied. Of course, there's no way to tell what Season 5 will bring until the day Netflix releases it sometime in 2024. In the meantime, this list rounds up the plots the Stranger Things fandom has been asking for, and while some of them may not come true, you should never say never.

Eddie Munson is easily the fan favorite of all the new characters introduced in Season 4. He's a tragic figure you can't help but love, and his masterful rendition of Metallica's "Master of Puppets" is quite possibly the most metal thing ever aired outside of an actual metal concert.
The town of Hawkins casts Eddie as the villain almost immediately after cheerleader Chrissy's body is discovered in his trailer. The townspeople link his involvement in Dungeons & Dragons to Satanic worship, blaming the game for Eddie's alleged decision to brutally murder his fellow high school student. This moral frenzy wasn't created solely for the show - it was a real-life concern in the 1980s known as the "Satanic Panic." National hysteria vilified all role-playing games, D&D in particular.
At the end of Season 4, Dustin gives Eddie's uncle some heartwarming closure about his nephew, and it's a beautiful scene. Unfortunately, the rest of Hawkins continues to blame Eddie for what probably looks like “all hell breaking loose.” Hopefully, the gang will find a way to prove his innocence now that the real threat has surfaced.

Steve Gets His Winnebago Dream (With Or Without Nancy)
Steve and Nancy have some interesting conversations while the gang works together to infiltrate the Upside Down to defeat Vecna. The two dated in Season 1 but went their separate ways soon after, and Nancy began crushing on Jonathan. Those two started dating, and Nancy pushed aside her feelings for Steve, but when looking at the original pair in Season 4, it's clear there's still something brewing under the surface between the two.
As they're driving, Steve reveals his dream of having a large family and piling them all in a Winnebago, and the two share a heartwarming moment. Season 5 will likely feature a time jump, and there are plenty of fans out there who would love to see Steve get his Winnebago dream of a large family. Some would like to see him with Nancy, but it would be nice to see him happy with anyone - so long as he's behind the wheel of an RV.
It took a long time for Hopper and Joyce to form a romantic relationship, and unfortunately, it all fell apart when Hopper seemingly died at the end of Season 3. Of course, Hopper survived and was taken to Siberia, where Russian forces imprisoned him. In what has to be the most unbelievable (yet sometimes fun) story arc in the fourth season, Joyce learns of Hopper's fate, travels all the way to Siberia, and rescues him.
When the season ends, Joyce and Hopper are back together, and the whole family is there as well. It's a lovely moment, and it's one fans have been hoping for ever since the ambiguous end of Season 3. Given the pair's strong bond, there's a good chance they'll still be together in Season 5, and if it starts with a time jump, they might even be married and living together when the season begins.
In Season 4, Max courageously offers herself up as bait so the team can sneak into the Upside Down and kill Vecna's physical body. Back in the real world, Max becomes catatonic as her mind fights Vecna's incursion, even as Eleven comes to her aid. In the fight, Eleven manages to save Max, but only just. She's already severely injured before Eleven manages to rescue her, and she dies within minutes.
Somehow, Eleven is able to restart Max's heart while still connected to her mind, but the damage is already done. Max's body is broken, and her mind is seemingly dead. Her death allows Vecna to breach the real world, even though Max is still technically alive. The gang gathers around her hospital bed, but there's no indication she'll awaken from her coma. With any luck, Max will wake up in Season 5, either with Eleven's help or because Vecna is finally defeated.

The Hawkins Gang Defeat Vecna And The Mind Flayer For Good
Season 4 revealed that Vecna was not only the season's big bad and the person behind Eleven's powers; it also made clear that Vecna and the Mind Flayer are two separate entities.
When Henry first sees the Mind Flayer after a 9-year-old Eleven sends him to the Upside Down, it's a mass of particles within a cloud that hangs over the landscape. As Henry approaches it, the cloud re-forms into the spider-like shape viewers first saw in Season 2 - but there's more to this shape than meets the eye.
Henry's established fascination with spiders is reflected in the Mind Flayer's form, so while the the two aren't the same, Henry does control the Mind Flayer. This intertwines both beings and makes them incredibly dangerous.
One probable outcome in Season 5 will see the Hawkins gang go up against Vecna and the Mind Flayer simultaneously. This will probably happen in Hawkins now that the Upside Down has breached into the real world, so prepare for an epic conclusion that promises to be both challenging and costly for the gang.
One of Will's most emotional scenes in the entire series came in the fourth season when he's talking to Mike in the back of the pizza van. The two have been friends for most of their lives, and Season 4 saw them separated for a long time.
When they reunite, Will's behavior is different, but Mike doesn't really notice this due to his concern over Eleven. It's that very concern that brings Will to tears in the aforementioned scene. When he explains Eleven's fears and her love for Mike, it's clear to viewers he's using her as a proxy to describe his own feelings.
If fans didn't know Will was gay before, this scene made it abundantly clear. Will is clearly struggling with his sexuality, but he's slowly becoming more open about his feelings. There's a good chance he'll come out to his friends or confess his feelings for Mike in Season 5; he may even begin seeing a different boy since Mike isn't available or interested in that kind of relationship with his friend.
