The 13 Strongest Guilds In Fairy Tail, Ranked by Power

Fairy Tail, the titular guild of the series, is considered to be the strongest guild in the entire Kingdom of Fiore. They’ve existed for several decades and enlisted over a hundred mages along the way; many of which where S-rank. Even after their shocking disbandment, the Fairy Tail Guild was able to retake their number one spot from the Sabertooth guild. Among the many mages that make up the Fairy Tail guild, the core cast has always consisted of Natsu Dragneel, fire mage/Dragon Slayer; the celestial deity summoner Lucy Heartfilia; the armor-loving warrior Ezra Scarlet, and the ice-casting exhibitionist Gray Fullbuster. When it comes to the strongest Fairy Tail guild member, these are just the tip of the iceberg. 
 

Before Fairy Tail came back to reclaim its title, the Sabertooth guild was the strongest guild in the Kingdom of Fiore. Initially, the Sabertooth guild was regarded as one of the strongest guilds in the land. However, the ruthless actions of its former leader, Jiemma Orland, gave Sabertooth a damaging reputation. Master Jiemma had zero patience for anyone he considered to be weak and would excommunicate members who brought shame to the name Sabertooth in the most humiliating ways possible. 

After the disbandment of Fairy Tail, Sabertooth established a new reputation thanks to the enlisting of five powerful mages: Sting Eucliffe and Rogue Cheney, the Twin Dragons of Sabertooth; Rufus Lore, The Minstrel Who Sings to the Red Moon; Orga Nanagear, the Lightning God Slayer, and Minerva Orland, the strongest mage of Sabertooth. Sting is the current guild master of Sabertooth. 

Crime Sorcière is an independent guild made up of former Dark Mages looking for redemption. They’re on a mission to eradicate every Dark Guild they find and to stop Zeref Dragneel, the evilest mage of all time. The three founding members of Crime Sorcière are Jellal Fernandes, an astrology mage who actually tried to revive Zeref; Ultear Milkovich, a time-manipulating mage and the daughter of Ur, and Meredy, a mage that specializes in Maguilty Sense.  

Lamia Scale is one of the strongest guilds in the Kingdom of Fiore. During the seven-year absence of the Fairy Tail guild, they were considered to be the second-strongest guild in Fiore, right after the Sabertooth guild. So much of Lamia Scale’s reputation as a powerhouse comes from its strongest member, Jura Neekis, who is one of the most powerful mages that make up the Ten Wizard Saints. That’s not to say Lamia Scale is filled with pushovers, as other members include Yuka Suzuki, who possesses the power to dispel magic, and  Sherria Blendy, a woman who specializes in Sky God Slayer magic.

Mermaid Heel, one of the strongest legal guilds in the Kingdom of Fiore, is notable for being entirely comprised of women. During the Grand Magic Games of X791, Mermaid Heel defeated over 105 competing guilds to take the sixth spot in the preliminary event "Sky Labyrinth," and outranked the A-team of Fairy Tail, who came in at eighth. Out of all the members of Mermaid Heel, Kagura Mikazuchi is the strongest mage of the bunch, as she is on the same level as the S-class mage Ezra, and has the power to manipulate gravity.

Much like Raven Tail, Phantom Lord was another guild that was made to spite Fairy Tail. Specifically, the grudge former Blue Skull guild master Geoffrey had for the founding members of Fairy Tail. While Phantom Lord was never as strong as their rival, they were still a formidable guild to go up against. Much of this can be attributed to Phantom Lord guild master Jose Porla, who was a former member of the Ten Wizard Saints with the power of Iron Dragon Slayer magic. Phantom Lord also had five S-rank mages within the guild, four of which made up an elite elemental team called the Element 4. The disbandment of the Phantom Lord, however, meant they never got to grow in power like the other guilds.
