Is it hot in here, or is it just a redeemed Zuko? Firebenders in Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra are usually seen and not really talked about because their powerset is pretty self-explanatory. They point at things and they go boom. Or they wave their hands and things go boom, and so on and so forth. That doesn't mean firebenders aren't highly skilled martial artists who utilize a number of different techniques to rise to the level of master, though.
Whether you're a fan of traditional firebending masters like Uncle Iroh or a ruthless tactician like Princess Azula, only one can reign supreme. This is a list of the strongest naturally born firebenders, so you won't find Aang or Kyoshi on this list. Vote up who you think are the strongest firebenders in the world of Avatar!
The legendary Dragon of The West and Grand Lotus, Iroh is a retired general and the former Crown Prince of the Fire Nation. A master firebender, Iroh utilizes techniques from the other three bending disciplines when developing his firebending style and teaching Zuko.
He was the last person to learn the secret origins of firebendng from Ren and Shaw and the Sun Warriors before Avatar Aang and Prince Zuko learned the techniques themselves in 100 AG.

The Avatar before everyone's favorite airbender Aang, Avatar Roku was a restrained, but incredibly powerful firebender during the time of Fire Lord Sozin. After mastering the four elements as the other Avatars that preceded him, Roku's tenure as Avatar was reletively uneventful until Fire Lord Sozin began encroching on Earth Nation territory.
Roku's firebending extended beyond the normal scope of most benders, branching into the literal bending of heat energy, similar to lightning bending. This is most easily seen when he and his former friend Fire Lord Sozin attempt to stop an erupting volcano on Roku's home island.
Jeong Jeong, also known as The Deserter, was a strong, enlightened, yet embittered firebending master who witnessed firsthand the hardships of the Hundred Year War. He was once an honored admiral of the Fire Nation Navy, but became disillusioned with his nation and firebending as a whole and defected from the military, the first to do so and live to tell the tale.
Because of this, he came to be known as "The Deserter" and was regarded as a legend. He relocated to the Earth Kingdom, where he encountered Avatar Aang and became his first firebending teacher, before going into hiding upon his discovery by Admiral Zhao. It is later revealed he is a member of the Order of the White Lotus, and he aided in the liberation of Ba Sing Se.
Described as a "firebending prodigy" by her brother Zuko, Princess Azula is a force to be reckoned with. Utilizing advanced firebending techniques, including lightning generation and superhot flames, Azula combines her strategic mind and ruthless cunning to easily take on anyone who might get in her way.

A once banished prince of the Fire Nation, Prince Zuko is a skilled firebender that was trained by Iroh. Initially, Zuko's firebending is shown to be fueled by anger and a drive to redeem himself, however as he grew as a character and began training Aang, he learned the secrets of firebending from the dragon masters Ren and Shaw, like his uncle before him.

Fire Lord Ozai was a terror to the world and an equally fierce firebending master. Utilizing the energy provided by Sozin's Comet, Ozai was able to give Avatar Aang a run for his money during his attempted invasion of the Earth Kingdom. He is a skilled lightning bender and is known for giving his son, Zuko, his facial scar after forcing him to fight in an Agni Kai after disrespecting him during a war meeting.
