When most people think about the strongest anime villains out there, they think about characters like Madara Uchiha, Sousuke Aizen, Frieza, Naraku, and other characters from older anime. Those villains are great, but newer villains can be just as blisteringly evil - and just as strong.
For this list, we'll be looking at some of the strongest modern anime villains from 2015 - 2021. A few, like Kaido from One Piece and Utsuro from Gintama, appear in shows that started long before that - but they count because of the date they first debuted in their respective anime. Other characters are from recent shows, like All For One and Shigaraki Tomura from My Hero Academia and Sukuna from Jujutsu Kaisen.

One Piece has been going on since 1999, and in that time there have been plenty of powerful villains. But one of the strongest is Kaido, a member of the Four Yonko who debuted in 2016. He's so indestructible that he tests whether or not he can take himself down for his amusement - and he can't. He doesn't have to use his Devil Fruit in order to 1-Hit KO strong opponents like Luffy, but when he does use it, he turns into a dragon.Powerful villain?

As his title implies, the Demon King is the ruler of the Demon Clan. The Ten Commandments were created when he divided his power into ten, which means that he's at least as strong as all of them combined, if not moreso. His powers range from super strength and immortality to the ability to cast devastating reincarnation-based curses on his son and his girlfriend.Powerful villain?

All For One's protege Shigaraki Tomura is well on his way to being just as terrifying as he is. His quirk, Decay, lets him turn anything he touches with all five fingers into dust. What's more, the decaying area can spread through the entire object or person, and create a chain reaction with other things that touch the original target. Combine that with his chaotic evil attitude and you have one scary villain.Powerful villain?

Beerus doesn't stay a villain for long, but while he is one, he's so strong that even Goku can't touch him when they square off for the first time. He's a god of destruction who can eliminate whole universes with as much effort as it takes most people to blink. It's a good thing he cares less about opposing the heroes and more about eating delicious food and taking naps!Powerful villain?
