Sky HighKurt Russell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Lynda Carter - Kids who have parents with superpowers apparently go to THIS high school! A whole lot of fun!! Get ready for some major camp, and a lot of GREAT characters!
MatildaDanny DeVito, Mara Wilson, Paul Reubens - I also never read Roald Dahl's Matilda. This is really a fantastic movie! Definitely fits more into the 'fantasy' genre....beautiful scenes; very colorful! And, wow! What a cast!
EclipseKristen Stewart, Ashley Greene, Anna Kendrick
Ella EnchantedAnne Hathaway, Heidi Klum, Vivica A. Fox - Very 'Cinderella' meets 'Enchanted'. Very, very girly. I enjoyed it. :)
StardustMichelle Pfeiffer, Robert De Niro, Claire Danes
JumanjiKirsten Dunst, Robin Williams, Patricia Clarkson - This movie is particularly fun. Who doesn't actually want to be in a board game? Seriously.
Charlie and the Chocolate FactoryJohnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Christopher Lee - Being one of the millions of Johnny fanatics, I ate this up. Don't get me wrong, the other one is still a classic, but this one was closer to the book (yeah, I'm one of THOSE people).
CasperMel Gibson, Clint Eastwood, Christina Ricci - Say what you will. This movie was AWESOME.
Nanny McPheeEmma Thompson, Angela Lansbury, Colin Firth - Yes, you're totally right. It's like 'Mary Poppins' meets Tim Burton. Wickedly fun!
The Spiderwick ChroniclesNick Nolte, Seth Rogen, Mary-Louise Parker - This one was just cool. Just so cool. Also based on a book series, this film stars Freddie Highmore and Freddie Highmore doing the 'Parent Trap' thing by playing believable twin brothers! I would see it for his acting alone.
EragonRachel Weisz, John Malkovich, Jeremy Irons - Based on the book series by Christopher Paolini. This is one of the ones that if you've read the book, you'll hate it, but if not, it's great! Did have a good cast.
The Wizard of OzJudy Garland, Margaret Hamilton, Frank Morgan - A house falls on a witch and then we battle evil flying monkeys, tell me that's not supernatural.
The CraftNeve Campbell, Robin Tunney, Christine Taylor
BeetlejuiceAlec Baldwin, Winona Ryder, Geena Davis - I consider this one of Michael Keaton's best roles. And the young Winona Ryder plays a great Lydia. The cast alone is worth seeing this one for. :)
Mary PoppinsJulie Andrews, Dick Van Dyke, Elsa Lanchester - I'm just gonna say 'Mary Poppins' and be done with it.
The NeverEnding Story Franchise I can't imagine NOT having seen this movie....classic fantasy at it's best. Flying dragon (who somehow manages to look like a large dog), all sorts of fun creatures and let's not forget the kingdom that desperately needs to be saved! Lovely.
LabyrinthJennifer Connelly, David Bowie, Frank Oz - If you haven't already seen this film, chances are you won't like it.
Bedtime StoriesAdam Sandler, Courteney Cox, Carmen Electra - Okay, this movie is just fantastic. Lovely blending of comedy, action and fantasy. If you like Adam Sandler at all, you will love this. Also, the kids in it are wicked cute. And the guinea pig, oh my god, the guinea pig...
PenelopeReese Witherspoon, Christina Ricci, Russell Brand - Penelope comes from a very blue-collar family. Very high class, lots and lots of money....only one problem, she's got a pig's nose. And no, I didn't just give anything away. :) This film is AWESOME.
City of EmberBill Murray, Saoirse Ronan, Tim Robbins - Did not read the book, but was pleasantly surprised at being pulled into this movie. Once I was interested, I HAD to find out what happened next...
The Golden CompassNicole Kidman, Eva Green, Ian McKellen - Another book-turned movie. Same applies...if you've read the book, you'll be sorely disappointed. If not, enjoy this wonderful piece of entertainment that is beautiful to watch and has stunning performances!
Monster HouseKathleen Turner, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Steve Buscemi - We have all known that place in our childhood...the creepy place with a story that probably isn't even true. But you still don't actually go there..........just in case.
ZathuraKristen Stewart, Josh Hutchersonm, Tim Robbins - This movie is based on a book written by Chris Van Allsburg who also wrote 'Polar Express' and 'Jumanji'. If that's not enough to get you to see it, it stars Kristen Stewart of 'Twilight' and is directed by Jon Favreau, director of the 'Iron Man' series. Yeah, I name-dropped.
Teen WitchRobyn Lively, Zelda Rubinstein, Marcia Wallace
Mr. Magorium's Wonder EmporiumNatalie Portman, Dustin Hoffman, Jason Bateman - This film fits nicely in the 'Family' genre. A neat movie about an eccentric man and his wonderful imagination! One of those heartfelt-type of films. :)
The Seeker: The Dark Is RisingChristopher Eccleston, Ian McShane, Frances Conroy - The Dark IS rising!! Very dark, very beautiful movie. Didn't read this series either, but enjoyed the film!
