The MCU has been criticized for having some weak enemies, but that's not the case where Thanos, the Mad Titan, is concerned. Josh Brolin's Thanos is easily one of the best villains in the MCU — and in any comic book superhero film. The Mad Titan proved to be an incredibly formidable foe, as he had little problem destroying Cap's shield, Tony's armor, and whatever else was thrown his way.

Thanos made some cameos along the way, but he only ever appeared in full in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. Because he wasn't on screen for very long, there's not too much that's known about him. Fortunately, some eagle-eyed fans have watched his appearances closely and have taken to the MovieDetails subreddit to share their findings about Thanos.

This list compiles some of the more interesting small details about Thanos. Take a look down below, and when you find something you didn't already know, be sure to give it an upvote to see which one rises to the top!

Thanos' Ideology Proved Ineffective Before He Ever Appeared

Before Thanos made his full appearance in Infinity War, his goals were already proven ineffective, as noted by u/Adaman1324:

In Guardians of the Galaxy, part of her description shows she's the last surviving member of her race. Thanos never went back to check on her planet after he 'saved' them to see if he actually helped.

Thanos' Words In 'Infinity War' Hearken Back To Whiplash's In 'Iron Man 2'

When Tony Stark managed to draw some blood from Thanos in Infinity War, it hearkened back to a scene in Iron Man 2, as Redditor u/Darrenkelos pointed out:

In Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Thanos remarks "All that for a drop of blood" to Tony during battle. 16 movies prior in Iron Man 2 (2010), Whiplash told Tony "If you can make God bleed, people will cease to believe in him."
