1994's Pulp Fiction is definitely a quotable movie. Quentin Tarantino's crime film, starring John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson, contains some highly memorable dialogue that combines elements of humor—and violence, of course. Filled with intelligent monologues and conversations, including that famous speech by Jules, Pulp Fiction was a hit with fans and with critics.

The movie garnered multiple Academy Awards nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (Travolta), Best Supporting Actor (Jackson) and Best Supporting Actress (Uma Thurman). Tarantino and co-writer Roger Avary won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay (which gives any potential remake quite a reputation to live up to). Some of the speeches are now favorites to memorize, but there are short quotes that are just as memorable. Read on for some memorable Pulp Fiction quotes.

    Ezekiel 25:17

    Ezekiel 25:17
    Video: YouTube

Jules: "You read the Bible, Brett?"
    Brett: "Yes!"
Jules: "Well, there's this passage I've got memorized that sort of fits this occasion. Ezekiel 25:17. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of the evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and goodwill, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper, and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee!"

Definitely one of Samuel L. Jackson's finest moments on film.

    Uncomfortable Silences

    Uncomfortable Silences
    Video: YouTube

    Mia: "Don't you hate that?"
    Vincent: "What?"
Mia: "Uncomfortable silences. Why do we feel it's necessary to yak about bulls**t in order to be comfortable?"
    Vincent: "I don't know. That's a good question."
Mia: "That's when you know you've found somebody special. When you can just shut the f**k up for a minute and comfortably enjoy the silence."

Beautifully acted scene by Travolta and Uma Thurman as Mia.

    About Foot Massages

    About Foot Massages
    Video: YouTube

Vincent: "Have you ever given a foot massage?"
Jules: [scoffs] "Don't be tellin' me about foot massages. I'm the foot f**kin' master."
Vincent: "Given a lot of 'em?"
Jules: "S**t yeah. I got my technique down and everything, I don't be ticklin' or nothin'."
Vincent: "Would you give a guy a foot massage?"
    Jules: "F**k you."
Vincent: "You give them a lot?"
    Jules: "F**k you."
Vincent: "You know, I'm getting kinda tired. I could use a foot massage myself."
Jules: "Man, you best back off, I'm gittin' a little pissed here."

This dialogue is a great example of the humor in 'Pulp Fiction' - so many scenes between Travolta and Jackson play this way.

    Transitional Period

    Transitional Period
    Video: YouTube

Jules: "Normally, both your a**es would be dead as f**king fried chicken, but you happen to pull this s**t while I'm in a transitional period so I don't wanna kill you, I wanna help you. But I can't give you this case, it don't belong to me. Besides, I've already been through too much s**t this morning over this case to hand it over to your dumb a**."

Jules most definitely has anger issues - and he's seriously lacking in patience. He doesn't suffer fools well, now does he?

    Superfly T.N.T.

    Superfly T.N.T.
    Video: YouTube

Jules: "Oh, man, I will never forgive your a** for this s**t. This is some f**ked-up repugnant s**t."
Vincent: "Jules, did you ever hear the philosophy that once a man admits that he's wrong that he is immediately forgiven for all wrongdoings? Have you ever heard that?"
Jules: "Get the f**k out my face with that s**t! The motherf**ker that said that s**t never had to pick up itty-bitty pieces of skull on account of your dumb a**."
Vincent: "I got a threshold, Jules. I got a threshold for the abuse that I will take. Now, right now, I'm a f**kin' race car, right, and you got me the red. And I'm just sayin', I'm just sayin' that it's f**kin' dangerous to have a race car in the f**kin' red. That's all. I could blow."
Jules: "Oh! Oh! You ready to blow?"
Vincent: "Yeah, I'm ready to blow."
Jules: "Well, I'm a mushroom-cloud-layin' motherf**ker, motherf**ker! Every time my fingers touch brain, I'm Superfly T.N.T., I'm the Guns of the Navarone! In fact, what the f**k am I doin' in the back? You're the motherf**ker who should be on brain detail! We're f**kin' switchin'! I'm washin' the windows, and you're pickin' up this n****'s skull!"

This hilarious exchange follows a rather messy killing by Vincent, and the two are trying to clean up the car. For the record, Jules is absolutely right: Vincent should be the one picking up the...remains, since he made the mess in the first place.

    Corpse in a Car

    Corpse in a Car
    Video: YouTube

The Wolf: "You must be Jules, which would make you Vincent. Let's get down to brass tacks, gentlemen. If I was informed correctly, the clock is ticking, is that right, Jimmie?"
    Jimmie: "Uh, one hundred percent."
The Wolf: "Your wife... Bonnie comes home at 9:30 in the AM, is that right?"
    Jimmie: "Uh-huh."
The Wolf: "I was led to believe that if she comes home and finds us here, she'd wouldn't appreciate it none too much?"
Jimmie: [laughing] "She wouldn't at that."
The Wolf: "That gives us exactly... forty minutes to get the f**k out of Dodge. Which, if you do what I say when I say it, should be plenty. Now, you've got a corpse in a car, minus a head, in a garage. Take me to it."

Because really, what would a true crime film be without Harvey Keitel to clean up the mess?
