List RulesStudio songs performed by Ray Charles (but not necessarily written by Charles).
Ray Charles songs, ranked by fan votes. Ray Charles was one of the most important musical artists of the twentieth century, crossing over between R&B, gospel, and even country and western - and thus becoming one of the inventors of soul music. Blind since the age of seven, Charles started releasing music in 1949 and became one of the best selling singers of the 1950s and 1960s. After that, he was viewed as an elder statesman, collaborating with the likes of Van Morrison, Billy Joel, Willie Nelson, and more, up until his death in 2004. Ray, a posthumous biopic released after Charles passed, was both a commercial success as well as an Oscar nominee and winner.
Some of Ray Charles's classic tracks include "Hit The Road Jack," "Unchain My Heart," "Busted," and "I've Got A Woman," but this list goes much deeper than just the big hits.
