The best travel TV shows inspire us to venture out into the unknown. They allow everyone to enjoy exploring some of the most interesting locations on the planet, without ever leaving the couch! A great television travel show offers viewers the opportunity to share in the journey as the hosts wander from town to town, or country to country, taking in the local landscape and learning about an area's unique culture. This list includes some of the most popular travel TV shows (past and present), but it isn't complete: Feel free to add your own suggestions, and vote up the best travel shows you love the most.

Several TV shows listed here manage to combine travel and food. Among them: 'Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations' and 'Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern.' Each of these shows offers viewers an in-depth look at local cultures, along with a taste of the area. Zimmern's choices are certainly more "out there" than Bourdain's, but both make for excellent travel TV viewing.

Classic, beloved travel TV shows are also listed here, including one of the most popular travel series of all-time, 'Michael Palin: Around the World in 80 Days.' Actor Michael Palin actually recreates Phileas Fogg's fateful journey from the Jules Verne novel 'Around the World in 80 Days.'

Are you a fan of reality TV? If so, you've likely seen CBS' 'The Amazing Race.' While the program is definitely a reality competition, it takes the competitors to some of the most beautiful places in the world. In other words, it's awesome viewing for travel buffs!

What shows inspire your wanderlust the most? What us the best traveling show on TV? Vote for your favorite travel TV shows, and vote down those shows that you don't like. Bon voyage!
