"The Bourne Legacy" movie quotes guide us through the fourth installment in the "Bourne" action series of films. While the title character of Jason Bourne, portrayed by Matt Damon, does not star in this release, the fourth "Bourne" movie does not skimp on the action as Jeremy Renner takes over as the most wanted assassin on the run from the CIA.
As was intriduced in "The Bourne Identity," the Central Intelligence Agency in the past trained a group of secret assassins to perform deadly tasks around the world. Through the third film, "The Bourne Ultimatum, the focus was on the title character of Jason Bourne. But he was just one agent part of one program among so many others.
Meet Kenneth Gibson, or Aaron Cross as he's known in the program Outcome. Like Bourne he's a highly sought-after rogue assassin, but entirely more dangerous. As Aaron learns from his doctor-turned-partner in crime Marta (Rachel Weisz), his chromosomes have been altered to make him the ultimate killing machine. That doesn't bode well for the team from the CIA (Edward Norton, Joan Allen, Albert Finney and others) trying to locate him. But how do you catch someone trained to disappear and be that silent assassin? Good question. The high-powered "Bourne Legacy" hit US theaters August 10, 2012, joining the other action-packed summer thrillers like "The Amazing Spider-Man" and "The Dark Knight Rises." For something a bit lighter, there's also "Ted," "Celeste and Jesse Forever," "Madea's Witness Protection," and "Magic Mike."
Not Just a Science Project
As Marta and Aaron learn more about one another, we learn more about how Aaron Cross is the best thing since sliced bread to come out of the lab. He wasn't picked for his superhuman DNA, but rather had his chromosomes altered to make him the top assassin possibly ever.
Marta Shearling: "You've had alterations to two different chromosomes in your body. An increase in muscle efficiency, sensory function... It's the most exciting development in the history of the science."
Aaron Cross: "Well I'm not just a science project, doc... I gave them everything, we both did."Should this be higher or lower?
Do You Want to Live?
Terrified of the firefight, Marta comes upon a familiar face in Aaron. As watching him zoom in and out of traffic on a motorcycle and jump from rooftops alone wouldn't be any fun, the two join together to escape those searching for them.
Aaron Cross: "Hey, look, look, it's me... Do you want to live? Cause I want to live."Should this be higher or lower?
Burn the Program to the Ground
Eric Byer, the main antagonist, certainly isn't messing around in his efforts to control the Outcome project, especially when one of their best assassins ever, Aaron Cross, is out there.
Retired Col. Eric Byer: "You need to start to consider the magnitude of what we're facing if this movies sideways on us."
Agent: "Meaning what?"
Retired Col. Eric Byer: "Meaning we will burn the program to the ground, agents, assets, all of it"Should this be higher or lower?
A Whole Lot More
Fans of the previous "Bourne" movies will remember Jason Bourne, the Treadstone assassin who lost his memory and spent three films running from the CIA. That was only a fraction of the whole operation which included other divisions, like the Outcome branch of which Aaron Cross was formerly a member, all with dirty secrets just waiting to come out.
Terrence Ward: "You think that Jason Bourne was the whole story? Sorry, there's a lot more going on here."Should this be higher or lower?
