The Healthiest Fast Food Choices in America

Eating on the run can be difficult for those watching their weight, but it's not impossible to stick to a diet if you're choosing healthy fast food options. There are lesser evils hidden among the supersized options. These fast food menu items are healthier than other fast food choices, but still are fast food and likely only best in moderation.

Most doctors will advise that eating fast food is not part of a healthy diet, but busy lives, work, and being away from home often does not leave a lot of choice in the matter. Luckily, many fast food restaurants are providing healthier choices for adult and children's meals.

Just because you're forced to eat fast food does not mean you are required to select the 1,000-calorie burger or eat like a professional competitive eater. Skipping the burger and fries in favor of a grilled chicken sandwich (hold the mayo) or a salad is often the best bet (be sure to check out our list of the best fast food salads, if that's your thing). And better yet, you can always skip the bun and ask that your sandwich be lettuce-wrapped for an even lower-calorie fast food option that also skimps on carbs.
