When the dust settled, and E3 cleared out of town in 2015 there were more than a few casualties – most of them Nintendo related. But the game that claimed the most shame (sorry) was one that no one expected, Metroid Prime: Federation Force. Instead of receiving a long awaited follow up to the moody, exploration-based, alien shooter, fans received a 3-on-3 soccer minigame called Blast Ball. Presumably, Blast Ball is only a small part of Federation Force, but Nintendo’s being very quiet about the game’s details. And that silence is driving hardcore Metroid fans UP THE WALL! To say that the fans are bummed about the new game would be the understatement of the year – they’re furious. Metroid heads everywhere have taken to the Internet to voice their displeasure (how did we get mad before Al Gore invented the Internet?) and we’ve collected the funniest, craziest, and straight up meanest reactions to Metroid Prime: Federation Force.
Cooler heads have surmised that Blast Ball is only a side game to the rest of Federation Force, which is assumed to be a world broadening game that allows players to see more of the Metroid universe. While that’s all well and good, the fans on this list don’t want to hear any of that nonsense. A good portion of the fandom feels like they’ve been abandoned after supporting the game for 20 plus years and a couple of recent stinkers. Whether or not the reactions on this list are the correct way to go about changing a giant corporations mind, they are funny.Let us know how you felt about any of the games that you saw previewed at E3, whether you loved them, hated them, or just thought they were okay.
