Though all women are different, one thing is certain for all: when pregnant, food cravings are no joke and these are the most craveable foods when you're pregnant. Move over pickles and ice cream. These foods are demanded by pregnant women the most.
While there are many foods that should be avoided by pregnant women, these foods are certainly not on that list. From junk foods like pizza and hamburgers to beverages like chocolate milk and lemonade to sweets like Christmas cookies and apple fritters, pregnant women's food cravings sure don't discriminate.
An estimated 50% of pregnant women crave at least one food during their pregnancy with sweets coming in first among food types. Salty snacks are also popular as are Mexican foods and spicy foods. Even a select few crave citrus fruits and other tart items. Quite often, women crave foods they normally would never eat while they are pregnant.
According to some, what a woman craves while she is pregnant can tell a bit about the child they are carrying and even about the health of both. Women who crave chocolate may be lacking in magnesium while ladies who crave ice may be deficient in iron.Whatever the reason for the cravings or whatever they may or may not mean, pregnant women can be demanding and plain crazy at times.
