On this list their may be fighters that are considered great. I am not necessary saying that some of these fighters are not great, but they are overrated

Floyd Mayweather, Sr. is listed (or ranked) 1 on the list The Most Overrated Boxers of All Time
age 66 - Though he is often ranker as one of the greatest American boxers of all time, Mayweather Sr. is not very good. He had an okay record, and did not fight any good opponents, except for Sugar Ray Leonard. The only thing good about him is that he put up a good fight against Leonard. But aside from that their really isn't anything good about him.

Leon Spinks is listed (or ranked) 4 on the list The Most Overrated Boxers of All Time
age 65 - I have no doubt that Leon Spinks is the most overrated fighter of all time. He is often considered as one of the greatest American boxers of all time, he is actually not good at all. He had a professional record of 46 total fights, 26 wins, 14 wins by knockout, 17 losses and 3 draws. Spinks also fought a lot of weak opponents, and did not beat anyone who was even the slightest bit good.

Every MMA fan said he was gonna knock Mayweather out in the 1st round and got TKO by a man who hasn't TKO/KO properly in a decade. He is also 0-1.

Mike Tyson is listed (or ranked) 13 on the list The Most Overrated Boxers of All Time
age 52 - Mike Tyson is definitely way overrated. I usually see Tyson ranked as one of the top five greatest boxers. He is not nearly that good. At the beginning of his career he fought a lot of weak opponents. Closer to his mid-career he did fight some quite good ones, but he never really beat anyone that was truly great. Tyson also did not age very well.

Vitali Klitschko is listed (or ranked) 14 on the list The Most Overrated Boxers of All Time

James J. Braddock is listed (or ranked) 15 on the list The Most Overrated Boxers of All Time
Died at 69 (1905-1974) - James J. Braddock is always ranked as one of the greatest American boxers of all time, but he is not nearly that good. He does not have a good record, and has not fought good opponents. For four years when he was young, he was steadily losing. He only started to show promise again before his fight with Baer. Beating Baer was also the only impressive thing about Braddock. And even in his prime Braddock was nothing to brag about.

Wladimir Klitschko is listed (or ranked) 18 on the list The Most Overrated Boxers of All Time
AmaanRaza added age 42 -

Even though he was heavyweight champion for a decade, He took part in a weak division with his most notable wins against samuel peter, david haye (on the list), pulev(shouldc be on the list) . povetkin (should be on the list) . He lost more than 5 times to weak competition like . He never fought no 1 for majority of his career (either lennox lewis or his brother). The people he lost against were puritty, brewster, sanders, fury and Joshua (on the list).

Emile Griffith is listed (or ranked) 21 on the list The Most Overrated Boxers of All Time
Died at 75 (1938-2013) - Emile Griffin is always considered as one of the greatest American boxers, and sometimes one of the greatest of all time. He had a bad record, and fought a lot of weak opponents. He also lost to many weak opponents, and did not age very well. The only thing good about him is that he won a lot of world titles.

Harry Greb is listed (or ranked) 25 on the list The Most Overrated Boxers of All Time
Died at 32 (1894-1926) - Harry Greb is often considered better than boxers like Gene Tunney, which is complete wrong. Gene Tunney was a great boxer, and Harry Greb was a pretty good boxer. Like Willie Pep he had a good record, and fought many weak fighters. He also had perhaps the worst wins by knockout of any professional fighters. And the only times he did beat good fighters, he always won by decision. He is a pretty good, but not great

Jack Dempsey is listed (or ranked) 30 on the list The Most Overrated Boxers of All Time
Died at 88 (1895-1983) -

Many people would rank Jack Dempsey as one of the top-ten greatest boxers of all time. But if you look at his record, the men that he fought, and how many times he defended his title, you realize that he must have been overrated. He had a professional record of 83 total fights, 65 wins (51 by knockout), six losses, eleven draws and one no contest. A good record, yes, but not as good as Holmes’s or Klitschko’s or Chavez’s. And the men that he fought were often pretty decent fighters, but not as good as the men that Holyfield fought, or that Klitschko fought, or that Langford or Lewis fought. He also only defended his World Heavyweight title three times, where as Holmes defended his twenty times. I am not saying that he was not a great fighter. He unquestionably was. He was probably in the top two or three for his era. But it still seems to me that he is overrated, despite being one of the greats.

Willie Pep is listed (or ranked) 31 on the list The Most Overrated Boxers of All Time
Died at 84 (1922-2006) - Though he had a very good record, Willie Pep was not a very good boxer. He had terrible wins by knockout, and he fought so many weak fighters. Even if that was not by choice, Pep still does not deserve credit for his record. Rocky Marciano fought many weak opponents, but Marciano did not have a choice, and he probably would have been able to beat better opponents. But had Pep fought tough opponents, he would have lost way more, and would have probably had even worst knockouts.

32
24 104
Roberto Durán is listed (or ranked) 32 on the list The Most Overrated Boxers of All Time
age 67 - Though he is a great fighter, Duran is definitely overrated. I have often seen him in the top 15, and the ESPN ranks him six. He had a good record, but fought a lot of weak opponents. Also, many of the tough opponents he fought were the ones he lost too.
