Reasons We're Sure We Haven't Seen the Last of Catelyn Stark

Nymeria fished these SPOILERS out of the Green Fork, so take heed...

Is Catelyn Stark really dead? We’re thinking maybe not. Season 6 has landed Jaime Lannister at Riverrun. Brienne has been sent there by Sansa. Catelyn Stark’s killer, Black Walder Rivers, is there with his brother and Talisa Stark’s killer, Lothar Frey.

Catelyn’s brother has never recognized the new regime in King’s Landing and is giving the Freys and Lannisters the siege finger. This would be a good time to see a resurrected Lady Stoneheart pop up from the moat and gurgle, “Surprise!” in Jaime Lannister’s face.

We need to see Catelyn Stark resurrected as Lady Stoneheart because Littlefinger needs to answer for all of his mess, especially handing Sansa over to Ramsay. The Freys need to get it because they killed Robb right in front of Cat and they are an awful bunch in general. Plus, just look at poor Edmure. He didn't get to have a good time with his new hot wife Roslin Frey. He’s been in a cell since the Red Wedding. He could definitely use a hug from his undead sister. Unfortunately, Lady Stoneheart isn’t the hugging type.

The biggest clue that Lady Stoneheart on Game of Thrones is going to happen comes from the actor who plays Lem Lemoncloak. Jóhannes Haukur tweeted that we’ll see him in episode eight, included a link to an article about the return of Lady Stoneheart, and proved that he didn’t read that really thick NDA HBO gave him.

Oh, and Michelle Fairley (Catelyn/Stoneheart) was spotted in Belfast last year during filming.

If all of these things are in place and there ISN’T a Lady Stoneheart appearance, things will be kicked. Words will be shouted. Tweets will be tweeted. Unless Arya wears her mother's face and sends the Lannisters her mother’s regards...

He played Thoros of Myr, the red priest who resurrected Beric Dondarrion, who in turn resurrects Catelyn in the books. Showrunners may cut Beric as Catelyn’s resurrector and give that duty to Thoros of Myr. He is the red priest with the magic touch, after all.

Maybe Beric will do the resurrecting and Thoros will be on hand to help out with the Lord of Light and make the “last kiss” transfer go smoothly.

She’s lost her shot at Roose, since Ramsay killed him, but she can do some damage to his ruthless awful bastard. Lady Stoneheart’s Brotherhood Without Banners is just the kind of forces you need to fight the Boltons. They may even teach Ramsay some new tricks...

There’s been speculation that Sansa would take on the Lady Stoneheart storyline, but it seems she’s got other business to attend to, nagging Jon and writing secret ravens to Littlefinger. Now, another fan theory is gaining speed. Will Arya take on Catelyn’s face to bring home some Stark revenge?

Maisie Williams (Arya) and Sophie Turner (Sansa) definitely hinted that Lady Stoneheart may return at the Season 6 premiere when they played Two Truths and a Lie.

Turner’s answers:
“Ramsay dies.”
“Lady Stoneheart returns.”
“Arya checks three people off her list.”

Williams’s answers:
“Arya goes to Westeros, back over the sea.”
“Arya is in the trailer more times than people have realized because they don’t realize it’s her.”
“Arya doesn’t cross any more names off her list.”

We interpret this as: Ramsay doesn’t die this season, Arya becomes a lot of people we know to be dead including Catelyn Stark, Arya kills some main cast members, and Arya will probably meet up with Sandor on the way to Clegane Bowl. Thoughts?

The Brotherhood Without Banners may be ruthless, as evidenced by the slaughter of Brother Ray and his group, but they have their own principles. And there is a strange prophecy that Beric and the BWB might honor. Something to do with the red god and bigger fish to fry.

Redditor propheticpeace reminded us about the prophecy of the ghost of High Heart castle in the Riverlands. She was a tiny old bent woman with long white who had visions. She predicted the death of Renly Baratheon and Balon Greyjoy. She also predicted the resurrection of Cat.

She tells Lem Lemoncloak and a couple of other Brothers this: “The old gods stir and will not let me sleep. I dreamt I saw a shadow with a burning heart butchering a golden stag, aye. I dreamt of a man without a face, waiting on a bridge that swayed and swung. On his shoulder perched a drowned crow with seaweed hanging from his wings. I dreamt of a roaring river and a woman that was a fish. Dead she drifted, with red tears on her cheeks, but when her eyes did open, oh, I woke from terror. All this I dreamt, and more.”

Go on, lady! What did the sorcerer hear in the brazier fire as Vary's manhood burned? Who are the three dragon riders? Is Dany bad? Is Syrio Forel going to pop up and save Arya? And will the Wall fall in the Season 6 finale?!
