Earning over $20 million during the year, the world's 50 top-earning athletes from 2010 include professional football, baseball, basketball and soccer players, boxers, auto racers, cyclists and even golfers. In fact one notable golfer ranks atop all other athletes for 2010 income, Tiger Woods, who brought in a whopping $105 million.
Though no other athletes broke the $100-million mark for 2010, each of these top sports stars led all others in their field and raked in the cash during the year.
In addition to their blockbuster contracts for playing the sport they are best at, these top-earning athletes earned millions for just showing up, like for a photo or commercial shoot, or by lending their name to one product or another.Of all major sports, only one is notably missing from this list, professional hockey players. Perhaps that's why there are so many billionaire NHL owners instead.
