The Worst Singing Competition Show Judges

Without a judge, it's essentially impossible to have a reality TV singing competition. But sometimes it feels like a bad singing judge worse than no judge at all. Instead of enjoying a fun dynamic between the judges and watching panel members guide up-and-coming singers,  that keeps you watching each week, you tune in to see if one of the other judges finally snaps and tells them off.

Reality TV judges on singing competition shows like American Idol, The Voice, and the various The X Factors are judging people when they have basically just sung their hearts out and are already worn down, but that doesn't stop some of them from being incredibly mean. There's a line between cruelty and constructive criticism and the meanest TV judges on singing competitions cross it constantly.

The worst TV judges also aren't always the ones who seem to revel in making contestants cry. The apathetic and ineffectual judges can be just as bad. Nodding along mindlessly, unable to give any useful critique, or being unable to effectively convey why they're qualified to judge singing can ruin a show. It's equally as frustrating when they're nursing a feud with another judge and
