My Dress-Up Darling is a surprisingly wholesome series about the joys of cosplaying and the importance of pursuing your own interests regardless of gender roles. Creator Shinichi Fukuda revealed that the series was loosely inspired by an upsetting real life encounter.

They spoke to a cosplayer whose partner said that they had to choose between their relationship or their hobby. Fukuda was upset by this notion, and decided to create a manga where the main couple supported each others' hobbies instead.

Power From 'Chainsaw Man' Was Based On Eric Cartman From 'South Park' & Walter Sobchak From 'The Big Lebowski'

Ever since she first appeared in Chainsaw Man, Power has been getting plenty of attention from the anime community. Fans might be surprised by what inspired Tatsuki Fujimoto to create her. In two separate interviews, he claimed that she was inspired by both Eric Cartman from South Park and Walter Sobchak from The Big Lebowski.

We're not exactly sure what the connection is - maybe it's that Eric loves inflicting pain on others but loses his mind when others do the same to him, and Walter is extremely stubborn and reckless? It would be great to hear more from Fujimoto himself on this matter.

So far, Spy x Family hasn't revealed anything about Anya Forger's biological family. One thing that was revealed is that Franky, short glasses-wearing guy who runs a tobacco shop as a front for passing information along to Loid Forger, was originally meant to be Anya's uncle.

While Franky does sometimes act like Anya's uncle, that biological relationship didn't make it into the series. Do you think they should have gone with it?

Call of the Night, also known by its Japanese title Yofukashi no Uta, was among the most popular anime of Summer 2022.

Its title was inspired by a song of the same name by a hip-hop group called Creepy Nuts. That very song ended up becoming the show's ending theme, which must have been pretty exciting for the series' creator.
